'cluck'

My little fella was about 7-8 weeks when I got him on 21 December and he seems to be going through a molt right now....he's also taken to 'clucking'....is this a standard part of his development? I've never had a budgie that clucks before?! I haven't made the noise to him and neither has anyone else...he's dreamed it up all himself. He can go many hours just chattering to himself and them BOOM he'll go off on a clucking frenzy.

When I watched him last night his whole body moved with the cluck and it was almost as if he was throwing up a little? (although I didn't see any vomit)

Sounds like he adores you, my bloke does something similar to my toes actually! Reckon he thinks my big toe's a big beak [albeit at a less frenzied pace than your guys performances]. Video? In case i'm wrong.

I assume he is doing it when he is dancing around, bobbing his head :raincloud:...he is flirting with you and having a good time.

That sound you described can sometimes be a lack of iodine, so get him an iodine bell just in case :raincloud:

I think we need a video of it as your description could lead to any "diagnosis" which can be seen by all the different answers here.

From your description I can't tell if he is just flirting or regurgitating, which are 2 completely different things. So post a video or clarify further.

Thanks All...I will try to grab a video of him doing it and post it.

Mmm...I don't think he is flirting because it happened about 30 mins after he was put back into his cage (after being outside of it and playing for about an hour) - the cage wasn't close to me - it was on a table in the centre of the room and I was on the sofa about 5 feet away.

Right, let me arm myself with a camera...
