Posted March 14, 200916 yr I would love to know if this boy i saw in a pet shop today is a violet, exactly like Liz Taylor's eyes he was, all in one solid color. I now wish i had grabbed him [had no cash...sigh] If he is still there tomorrow he's mine!
March 14, 200916 yr sorry not one to stare at liz taylor eyes. did you notice the colouring of the cheek patches at all?? If you think he is pretty and you will be able to handle having two birds, and them most likely bonding closer together than with yourself then sure pick him up.

I agree I am not one to look at Liz Taylor's eyes - matter of fact I dont even know who she is!! pics would be great!
March 14, 200916 yr Author Just the standard black spots Nerwen, standard white head, very normal exept the color. I honestly had no other way of describing it... will definately post a picture if successful. Thought i would keep them in separate cages but in the same room for wild fly by sessions...? I wouldn't like to lose my new "best friend" for sure...can always keep them in separate rooms.
March 14, 200916 yr Make sure you quarentine for 30 days if you decide to pick up this bird in separate cages and rooms. Recommended by avian vets and bird specialists is actually 90 days. Keep us updated.
March 20, 200916 yr Author I have very bad news unfortunately, after putting the blue boy on lay by last weekend, I was shown him dead yesterday when I went to pick him up. Hadn't been on the perch that morning and expired just before I got there. He was to be the start of my "super blue" breeding program but more than that had a wonderful little personality. May well be the last time I deal with a pet shop. Most upsetting.
March 21, 200916 yr Sorry to hear that. You'll find another bird that is absolutely gorgeous. At least you didn't get him home and he got your other bird sick.
March 22, 200916 yr Aw that's very sad. In one way it was good though - your other bird wasn't exposed to him so won't get ill. really sad though (and for the record: I know who Liz Taylor is and was looking forward to seeing a photo of a bird with her colour eyes).
March 22, 200916 yr Author Similar to bird paridise but darker... it's me and eagle @ rum the red heeler[in his twelfth year] @ thats okay. Got a spare cage for any dramas that may now arise with natives or whatever, probably keep it like that for a while... thanks
