Hello! Thanks so much for allowing me to be here. I am fairly new to the Budgie world, approximately 2 months I would say. I also have a Red Lored Amazon Parrot named Jake. My experience with Budgies started as a rescue, we had adopted a single budgie from a neighbor who had a pair, and once one died, the didn't feel they could care for the other. Knowing that we had Jake, they offered their bird to us, and we accepted. About 2 weeks after the poor thing got here, while still in quarantine, my daughter went to care for it one morning and found that it had passed on. My husband knew how devastated we were, and went and bought us a pair from a pet store. So now we have 3 birds, Bonnie, Clyde, and Jake.

Clyde, we aren't positive, but from doing a lot of reading I am pretty sure it's a boy.

Bonnie and Clyde are still in quarantine. They seem to be adjusting well though, I am thinking they are pretty young, because they're tiny little things. I know budgies are smaller birds, but these 2 make Jake look like a monster lol. We know nothing about the types of budgies they are, but I am looking forward to reading the forums, learning, and getting to know all of you.

Welcome! This is a great forum... I've learnt a lot here and have never felt like I can't ask "silly" questions or anything like that! Your new family members are very cute! They look like an adorable pair! Very handsome/pretty!

 

I can't help you out with answering your questions (there are plenty of more knowledgeable people who will though!) but just wanted to say "Welcome"!.

 

P.S front on pics without the flash might make them easier to ID... but regardless of all that, they're lovely looking little things!

Hi and welcome and thanks for sharing your photos. They are definately young budgies, as they still have their stripes on the heads... and look young. As to their sex... we need front on photos without flash ( as caspersrose said). Very cute none the less!

I agree with needing better pictures (without flash). But so far it appears they are young, maybe a few months old. One is a Yellowface SKy Blue, I'm thinking a boy. The other is an Opaline Greywing SkyBlue, I'm thinking a girl, (may even have a vilot factor) but until we get better photos of the front and wings without a flash I can't say for certain. Look forward to seeing new pics.

I'm kinda new to the site as well and I already love it! Its great and you learn a lot of things. The people in here are so experienced and you can trust them with giving you good advice.

 

Your birds are beautiful. I love the name Jake for a bird and your budgies are very cute babies.
