Worldwide Macka  Kids giving "expert advice" looks like :)

LOL, this is hilarious, if slightly worrying though....

There are stoopid people everywhere. I used to work in a pet shop and once had a lady ask me very seriously whether cats needed toilet paper of some sort  I refrained from asking her how she thought they would hold it and simply said no :)

LOL

Man you could have had sooooo much fun with that one. Very strong of you not to sell her some toilet paper for her cat.

8) Can you mate a cockatiel that is from the same parents but from different clutches?

answer: You could try but you might kill it......... (sorry, couldn't help that one - I know I have a filthy mind  ).

Actually doesn't all this make you think that the average IQ of the human race is sinking faster than the titanic did.

My bird cut its foot off?

I was at school today but my parents went to the shop and when they came back they saw our birds foot cut off, we think its from the cage and he got his foot caught in it and tried to fly off and it just ripped off. This happened earlier today some time between 11am to 2pm. I was at school and only found out when I got home at 4pm.

His other foot is clenched and he can't stand on it properly and I'm worried about that too because that's his only foot. He's a canary and I'm worried, my parents cleaned his foot up to stop the bleeding and it's all good now, I suggested we take him to the vet but they don't want to because it'll cost too much apparently.

Right now he's relaxed, just he can't stand on perches or anything he's on the bottom of the cage.

Is it possible for a hen to cause an egg to become hard boiled by sitting on it. Or am I the butt of a joke?

Much to my delight I got my first egg, when I cracked it it was hard boied. No one is owning up to putting it there. Is it possible that if one of the chickens sat on it over night that she could cause enough heat to cause it to become hard boiled. You are probably all laughing at me, your feed back please.

Taxedermy--preserving a dead birds head?

Okay, I found a woodpecker head and it's beautiful. I'd like to send it to my friend so she can display it or make it into a necklace. Is there a way to keep the feathers on it still? Or do I have to take them off? Can I make it so it's just white and dried and make it a necklace for her? (like gingersnaps)

Parakeet lost feathers on her head, happened after switching food. Should I be concerned?

I'm 13, and I have a 4-year-old parakeet. Today, when I came home, she had lost some feathers on her head, made it look like she had dunked her head in water or gotten it cut by a weed-eater. Just now, I found out that my mom had run out of parakeet food, and was giving it hamster food for 2 days, before she could by more parakeet food. I've just bought parakeet food, and given it to her, which she dove to eagerly. Is her loss of feathers related to the food? Is this a cause for concern?

i dont have cuttle bone in home wht happened is tht she had an egg bound i removed the egg but know she is weak but now i cant evenm go to a medical store and i cant even wait 4 morning

Adding a different colored parakeet to the same cage?

I know that my parakeet gets lonely during the day when I'm gone because as soon as I get home she chirps madly until I pet her. I wanted to get another parakeet, not just for her company, but because I love birds. Does it really matter what color the parakeet is? I know they are different breeds, but is it life threatening to my parakeet? She's all white except for a patch of blue on her back.

Is my parrakeet going to die???

My bird gets out of its cage often, and i also have 2 cats in my room... one week ago, my cats got it, but it was okay, a couple of days later, I went to feed it, and it couldn't walk, i'm assuming it broke it's leg... it can't get up to the food and water dishes, so i put them down at the bottom of the cage so it could reach, but it hasen't ate or drank, what do I do?

Why does my parakeet hve crusty stuff all over its beak?

My bird has been growing some brownish/yellowish stuff all over its beak, especially by the nose and around the where the beak meets the fethers. i dont know whether its something that goes on to all parrakeets or if its contagious to any other parrakeet in the cage, i moved all the other birds too a diffrent cage in case its contageous and my mom says too just let it fly away because it might be very harmful, so if you know anything please help becasue i dont want to make her fly away and especially with the crazy weather!

Can i use long beaded earing for toy for my parokeet?!?!?

i coulkd just use the hook to hook it on the the side bars or do you think that would be dangerouse?

Why do budgies like to rub their bottoms onto stuffed toys?

My brother gave our budgies a littled stuffed dog for Christmas that is a little bigger than them. One of my budgies likes to peck and rub its bottom onto it, and I can see his tail moving rapidly. What is it trying to do with it???

Does anyone know if its safe to rub a little talcum into a budgies feathers to make them smell nice?

I would like my budgies to smell nice but refuse to use anything unless its safe otherwise they might die.

Is there any soap or shampoo or any kind of body wash for budgies while they have bath?

Someone's answer: We used regular Listerine and water mixed together and just spray on them until they get wet. (mix about half and half)

:ohmygod:

Is it possible that budgies change sex , like tropical swords ?

Someone's answer: no because that is impossible unless you got the sex change from a vet and chances of death are very high and it will probably die

How do I make my budgies shut their beaks because they are so loud and it's annoying?

The only thing that has worked for me is to hit the cage and clap very loud.

My budgies have gotten mites, what should I do, release them?

The mites have also been biting me for about 2 weeks now. I'm guessing that they didn't have mites before those 2 weeks because I have owned them for more than a year and this has never occurred before. I'm going to give them away, unless there's something that I can do to get rid of the mites without having to visit a vet.

How soon after planting budgie seed should the budgies grow?

Answer: Plant at the beginning of spring and by July they will come up a tweet. ^_^

There are some half wits out there :) I really feel for their poor birds being the victims of stupidity :(

What are the chances of a bird pooping in my convertable?

one of the answers..........

Birds look for convertibles, newly washed cars, and nice cars in general. Your chances are increased by the percent of how much you don't want them pooping in your car..

Is a dirty cage unhealthy for a bird?

I was just wondering. I don't clean my bird's cage every week. It gets done every two weeks at the most. Perhaps this is what killed my parakeets. It wasn't extremely dirty or growing mold or anything, but it wasn't cleaned for at least three weeks. Their cage was somewhat difficult to clean and big. They got clean water and food every day though. They died of some disease because they were both weak and died within two days of each other. My quaker parrot is well taken care of and healthy. I don't neglect my beloved birds.

:)

That's not actually that bad of a question. It is a fair question that I would answer with : It is ideal to clean your birds out often, but every 2 weeks is okay, because they don't sit in it. I don't think it is a stupid question at all.

Have you joined up yet SW as the more experts they have over there the more birds we save :)

Haha. No. I would love to. But I barely have enough time for these forums. You guys are doing excellently though.

It is a good forum for other questions, like health or gardening questions. Some people on their just impersonate experts and people believe them.

You know what I find really funny ( or tragic depending on how you look at it ) some kids on there give advice...terrible advice...terrible spelling and english and then they say down the bottom that they are an actual qualified vet.

The worst thing about that is you know it isnt true by their other questions on their profile and even worse than that is people select their answers ( because they are a vet ) and they are believed :)

Is it possible to trick a duck into laying eggs?

I have heard that it is possible to trick a mature duck into laying eggs by placing golf balls or similar egg like objects where it normally lays. To what extent (if at all) is this true?

Can i still kill a canadian goose?

I see these birds around my neighborhood almost every day.

They look like fat chickens.

Probably they taste like them too?

So, I live in the United States -- is it legal for me to kill one?

Do I need a license or anything?

I don't have a gun so I'm planning to trap them using the plastic rings from the top of a 6-pack of beer to see if one will get their beak wedged in, and then I'm going to knock it out with an aluminum bat.

I watch a lot of Food Network so I figure I can probably clean/dress the bird myself.

Any suggestions?

1 hour ago - 4 days left to answer.

Additional Details

Yeah the idea for the rotisserie chicken is a good idea.

Unfortunately I am unemployed (not to mention unemployable) and cannot afford one.

Geese are plentiful in my area and free.

Plus Tuna eat other fish and they don't taste like rotten fish.

Thanks for all of your help. . . . . .

oh the spelling .... some question you can't even figure out due to the mix of text words and different words that arn't meant to be there.

ie - When freight is dried, and has stuck to the beak. Freight?? what in the world is that and why are you feeding it to your bird?

I've learnt to never pick on another person's spelling on a forum because that is the time you make a spelling mistake yourself

Psst, it's spelt "aren't"

 and i read over just for that reason....but at least people could still work out what was meant.
