She looked preggers for about 2 weeks. Her stomach was huge and she looked like she had an egg towards her "exit". Whenever she went up on her swing, it would tilt cause she was soo heavy. Hi there,

I was just wondering if anyone else has a budgie who doesn't drink water???

She doesn't drink water....I haven't put any water in her cage for years! Becasue she doesn't drink it!

There is no point offerring her water, she never drinks it!

additional comments from the person who posted the question.........

Hallowsweets... I am not a cruel person! I love my budgie very much and she is part of the family. I only posed this question as I have often wondered if anyone else also has a budgie that doesn't drink water. I have tried giving her vegetables such as celery but they never get eaten. So all she eats is seed. It's not a big deal, she doesn't drink water. My vet said last year that she is in perfect health. Don't answer people if you are going to be rude and stupid...

........................

I think I am just going to take Conscience's advice thanks Moggie2!! "If it aint broke don't fix it!" Thanks. :( She has been fine for about 6 years without it so I think she will be fine! Perhaps you don't know everything Moggie2!!! Get a life!

Yes and the worst thing about that is they are listening to bad advice from other children. So we go there and try and help out.

Rules there are....no members under 14 but there are many under 14 on there.

Edited by KAZ

Yes some answers are from people who have 0 knowledge about birds, and if they are the only answers then the asker will listen to them.

I think # 3 and # 10 are very disturbing. The #3 conscerns be becuase those face nose rings they are talking about are attached to your face through the use of magnets. Everyone knows that if a magnet is ingested it can be very dangerous.... !!!

And #10... how does any living thing survive wihtout water???

That's scary to know that people are actually serious when they ask questions or make comments like this. Child or adult... WOW.

hahaha so this stupid little terd thinks Moggie2 should get a life??? hahaha perhaps they should get a BRAIN!!!

Unbelievable!

Oh boy. Look at this one:

How do you have another parakeet foster some other parakeets eggs?

I have 5 females and 7 males in my large cage. I currently have 4 nest boxes attached to the cage. So far, one female has laid 6 eggs in one nest box and is currently raising one baby in that one. That baby is about a week and a half old. In another nesting box, I have another female who just finished laying, with a total of 5 eggs. Also, just recently another of my female parakeets started to lay her eggs in a different nesting box. I noticed today that one of the female parakeets that isn't in any nesting box has started to invade the nesting box with the 5 eggs in it. I'm now sure that the mother to those eggs has abandoned them because she has not returned to that nesting box after I shooed out the other one that shouldn't be in there. I was wondering whether or not I could place all five eggs with the female that has just started to lay eggs.?. Because since she is still incubating her own eggs, I thought that she may be able to incubate these as well. Well, I went ahead and put the eggs with the other mom. Was this a bad idea? Oh, and in that nesting box I noticed that she had the father inside with her to help her incubate the baby eggs. Thanks so much to everyone who will be able to help me.

Should I pull out my bird's feathers?

I believe my bird has been having trouble with molting. As a result, and being single- it seems he's begun pulling out his feathers. He has created a red, sore spot on his shoulder that was bleeding yesterday. I took him out & cleaned the area. I noticed that there were sharp quills sticking out from where it was bleeding. So I pulled them out and the bleeding stopped. Thankfully!! Now I see that there are long pin-feathers along the side of the sore. I can see that the blood is receded from the stem of the feathers. I'm wondering if somehow the feathers are broken beneath the skin and the sore is a result of some kind of bruising or internal bleeding. Maybe that's why he's messing with it. I gave him a bath and cleaned the area.

Any ideas about this?

Question:

Do chickens breast feed their young?

Edited by *Nerwen*

There are stoopid people everywhere. I used to work in a pet shop and once had a lady ask me very seriously whether cats needed toilet paper of some sort :) I refrained from asking her how she thought they would hold it and simply said no :)

I know this question was hilighted before by Nerwen, but OMG some of the answers are just as bad

My budgie is throwing up seeds, help?

I mixed some sand in her food, maybe it will help...

(She didn't have sand before)

There is no parrot vet around.

She constantly is all fluffed up.

11 hours ago - 4 days left to answer.

Additional Details

I know a thing or two about budgies and this is definitely a sick bird.

She is not spitting husks or feeding a mirror or even just moulting.

I let her out of the cage a lot and she likes to sit on the lamp (which would need washing) and I am afraid she swallowed something bad or dirty).

The reason she didn't have sand till now is that I too have read that sand may be bad for them, but still companies sell sand (actually crushed shells) for small birds. The throwing up is violent and she shakes her head and the seeds are thrown everywhere, she will also let me put my hand on her, something which would have made her go crazy before today, so if she is maybe poisoned, or ate some bad dirt, what should I do?
