January 26, 200916 yr There is no sure fire way. Sometimes you just need to persist. You can sprinkle some seed over the fuit or veges to help her relate the fruit and veges to the seed as a food source.
January 26, 200916 yr I've got a few budgies who absolutely refuse to eat veges. (and I'v been trying for months) But I happened to see one of my birds right against the mesh in the aviary, eating the grass outside..so I put some in and within seconds (not literally, but before I even had closed the door) even the wildest ones were all over it, eating it. So I give them that and fruit and veges now, for the ones that eat it. Maybe that'll work for your bird?
January 26, 200916 yr Just keep offering it. Try it different ways. Get a dish/bowl the same as the one you offer your seed in, and try grating the veggies and cutting them in different sized, so finely and chunky. Also try poking them through the side of the cage. Sprinkling seed on them is also good. Corn on the cob is often a big hit... maybe put a small cob in her cage. As to the calcium bell... if she feels she needs it she'll use it. I wouldn't worry too much.
