January 17, 200916 yr have you built the aviary yet sunshine*??? Its 11:30 now surely its up by now... Don't forget lots of pictures, we need to envision the story of the build... j.k. hope your having a good time building the aviary. I'll take that as a reminder to me as well, gotta go out and make some tiered perches. Good luck sunshine, I'm with ya in spirit!
January 17, 200916 yr Author Well JB.. I did my aviary last night.. Stayed up till 4am making sure it was perfect lol I sorta cheated though.. I just joined two flight cages together and the the bits i tok off the sides i used to make it taller and then used wire wire its not purple and white.. and put the roofs back on top. Going to move my non quarantined birds into it now
January 17, 200916 yr I am hopeless at building things. I don't even bother trying to build things anymore because I am so poor at it. so anyone that builds their own get's applauded by me. You've done a great job with it. Edited January 17, 200916 yr by JimmyBanks
January 17, 200916 yr Author lol My camera has gone missing.. It looks so funny. I just put Laila, Rocky and CLoud into it and there is so much room! THey sorta flapped around abit and now they are just sitting on a perch lol Edited January 17, 200916 yr by sunshine*
January 17, 200916 yr I know this is a bit late and I am sorry for your loss, but: Normal Dark Green He is not a dark green he is a bright green.
January 17, 200916 yr Sunshine, I think you have done a great job on making this new flight cage. I am sure your birds will really love it. I am not sure the classification is right though, I think it is a flight cage, not an aviary.
January 17, 200916 yr Author I am not sure the classification is right though, I think it is a flight cage, not an aviary. Yeah Dave your right. It's a flight cage more then an aviary. But it's more of a aviary then what i had before.. :hi: I found the most perfect shed today. It's big, but not so big that it can't be moved and it would be so perfect the make an actuall aviary out of... It's at the house my sister and her husband just bought. I'm going to try to convince them to give it to me..
January 17, 200916 yr Good large cage. Me too about the aviary/cage classification...sorry :hi: I see aviaries as something you can walk into and or through. My only concern about your new cage is, since it has been remodelled so to speak, it seem to have lost some inner strength and reinforcing and may be in need of additional support now. Yeah that what I think of as an aviary to. My aviary is still a work in progress. There is a little shed at the back of our yard that would be great, but it's full of fire wood and old lawn mowers and stuff.. and i really doubt my mother in law would let me have it anyway.. My parnter is going to reinforce it when he gets home. Not sure how he is planning to do it though.. Also, about my new boy, What a honey :hi: he is a cinnamon grey normal and very very nice Is it because of the cinnamon that he's not the same grey as Sam? Sam is a darker grey.. Or can grey's be darker or lighter.. just because they are.. There was another grey boy in with him, he was the same colour but i can't remember if he had cinnamon or not.. The pet shop girl grabbed the one i got cos she thouhgt the other one had an ugly head.. Edited January 17, 200916 yr by sunshine*
January 17, 200916 yr Greys do vary some but YES he is paler due to the cinnamon :hi: Is he rung ? Edited January 17, 200916 yr by KAZ
January 17, 200916 yr Author okay, I was thinking that was probably it. I haven't really seen many Grey birds... Rung? Like have a leg ring?
January 17, 200916 yr okay, I was thinking that was probably it. I haven't really seen many Grey birds... Rung? Like have a leg ring? Rung YES....legring. Does he have one and if so what colour and code. He is show type.
January 17, 200916 yr Author Yeah, I had a dumb moment.. I knew what you meant. Yeah he does. It's black. So he's an '08 bird right? I dunno what code is on it.

He is an 08 bird.....check his legring code when you can and members may be able to help tell you his breeder. Being an 08 bird means he may well be a little too young for breeding depending on which part of 08 he was hatched.
January 17, 200916 yr nice birds sunshine the grey boy and the spangle are beautiful would make a nice pairing :hi: as would the colbolt pie hen and himself they all would pair lovley with him really what a hard decishion you will have come time to breed them if thats what you plan
January 17, 200916 yr Author okay Kaz I'll have a look at it in the morning. GB, Breeding isn't part of my plans for a long while yet.. But I'm sure he's gonna make me some pretty little baby's when I start :hi:

January 17, 200916 yr Author A few years most likely. I'm doin my VCE this year through tafe and that is gonna be stressful enough. and my partner wants kids so.. more stress.. and my aunty used to freak out whenever she found eggs. So i'm likely the panic whenever i see anything that might be a problem lol I'll wait till i know as much as i can learn on the subject first.
