Lacewing, Clearbody?

Featured Replies

I wish I had info to offer, but Lacewing and Clearbody are a major weakness for me since I don't personally own one or have experience with them. Either way this is a beautiful bird and I'm sure the others will be along to help you soon.

My guess is green lacewing with opaline

It looks like an opaline lacewing but I can't see if it has red eyes or not. If it is a lacewing the eyes will be red. Clear bodys usually have darker wing markings

I don't think it's a lacewing as the marking look more grey than cinnamon to me. I would say it's either a fallow or clearbody and the greywing has washed the clour out even more making it quite pale. Do you know what colour it's eyes are, Red, Plum or Black? If they are plum it's a fallow, if black a clearbody. I would be surprised if it has red eyes making it lacewing but's possible my computer is changing the colour of the wing markings.

I would go with opaline greywing TCB or fallow

It has too much green on its tail head to be a lacewing, I'm going for a greywing/dilute opaline TCB, as the tail has blue on it which a lacewing does not.

Texas Clearbody Opaline Dilute Light Green.

Wing markings are grizzled as you would expect to find in a TCB.

There is a defianate wing mirror which is an Opaline trait.

Blue/Grey tail consistent with Dilute.

Markings are pale grey consistent with Dilute.

The body colour on Dilutes is reduced to around 25%.

The body colour of Clearbodies is reduced with less reduction on the rump and when combined with Opaline is reduced further.

So if you add the TCB body colour already altered by the Opaline onto a bird with 25% body colour then you will get a body colour nearly yellow with some suffusion still on the rump as shown in the picture.

So, she has black eyes and I agree with most of you, greywing/dilute opaline TCB. ;) She's here in Finland and I hope not too old to breed.

I guess RIP could be right with the dilute, having so many points there to agree with.
