Daz has shown us his photography and I've chatted to Kaz about her other interests, so what are all of your other hobbies or interests other than budgies??

Other hobbies - some are past, some are present, and of course, i want some to be future.

Comic collecting - I still have boxes full of comics in a cupboard.

Sports

 

Present

My dogs

All sports - watch all although I only play golf now

Movies - quite a DVD collection

 

Future

Travelling

Sports - Watch all although I want to get back into playing tennis

 

I am sure I will think of more and so I will add them as I think of them.

I love learning something new by browsing the internet - lyrics of songs; Youtube videos of cute birds and animals; talented performers; anything medical & scientific etc. Sewing tons of dance costumes for my two little Eisteddfod performers, outfits for my Toy Poodle. Lazy gardening (planting, no weeding!) Photography mainly portraiture and time lapse; Art. Dog training, bird watching. Furniture shopping!

Photography but a bit lazy lately

 

rock n roll dancing but still a bit lazy

 

sewing and anything crafty like scap booking, making teddy bears, making porcalaine dolls etc but and still bit lazy

 

painting and drawing

 

But like does I love to make things with wood, I have made all my own breeding cages and nest box etc

Wood work is popular, its one of my favourite pass times too. I built our first kitchen, built in robes in the boys rooms and hallway and a carport on the side of the house.

 

Then I got into metal work and built a custom bike rack for the car and this landyacht, which is now another of my hobbies.

I also enjoy working on my cars, but being a Jeep owner this is probably more of a necessity than a hobby! :rofl:

 

But the thing that consumes most of my time (outside of my family and work) is bike riding (bicycle not motorbike). I ride with a club made up from people from my work. Our work even sponsored us with jerseys with the company's logo on them.

Bike riding is fast becoming the new golf as far as corporate sponsorship is concerned.

I LOVE photography. Latin Dancing. Horse riding. Working on farms. Working with kids.

I like to draw and paint, dance (just to the radio hehe), write, read, All sorts.

I would like to learn how to dance properly and take kick boxing maybe.

Apart from looking after my hubby which is a full time job....

and caring for all my budgies, canaries, goldfish and Batman, my cat

 

I like gardening- though I get my hubby to do the hard lifting messy jobs :hi:

I really enjoy cooking for special occasions, 3-5 course meals

I read a lot

I used to read alot Renee, then I had a baby Lol!! You sound extremely handy in the kitchen though- not me no,no,no!!

Take photos (theses 2 normally go together as most of my best pics have been taken while out the bush.)

Work my dogs

I like gardening- mainly vegie patches, not so into the other stuff.

Play around on the station a bit, look after the joint when the people go away, catch a few wild dogs.

 

And when I get some good ones I tan skins- floor mats, etc

 

I used to live on horses, work racehorses in the morning, work or farm during the day and train my own in the arvo's dont have a horse now, did a bit of teaching last year at the pony club and a few privates- not for a fee, just for people that needed some help.

Mine is poetry... here's one I wrote about 6 years ago or so, but I still love it....

 

Just Me

 

I look in the mirror to see what they see

But all that appears are images of me…

 

My eyes are not seductive and they are not deep

Nor are they fountains for you to make weep

My eyes are inviting to those who enquire

That shine with laughter and close when they tire

 

My body is not a perfect mold of clay

Nor is it just for a romp in the hay

My body is a shell that's meant to be dressed

That loves to be held touched and caressed

 

My hair is not a breath of fresh mountain air

Nor is it reins for you to pull or to tear

My hair is an expression of a simpler thing

That flows through the air when pushed on a swing

 

My lips are not screaming out to be kissed

Nor do they mean to be harmful when pissed

My lips are for me to speak my own mind

That allows me to call out for someone to find

 

My hands are not silk petals of a flower

Nor are they used to harm or empower

My hands are a greeting that will pull you near

That will comfort your worries and push away fear

 

My heart does not hold yours in a vice

Nor is it cold just like ice

My heart is mine for the world to share

That does for others to show how I care

 

… I am not what they all make me out to be

I am nothing more or less… I'm JUST ME!

Well, here's my confession - I see absolutely no point in day to day cooking .... I find it really boring.Before I came back to Australia I spent a lot of time on my parent's farm and loved riding, making home made jams and preserves. I also spent 4 years dancing Tango and got quite good at it- but I tried it here and it's just not the same.

There are hobbies I need to get back into but the kids take a lot of time and then when they are going my hobby is getting my house straightened up..is that a hobby LOL

 

I love to read, I want to put our new dog Sonny through therapy dog work (which has always been something I wanted to do), I would also love to be a puppy raiser for the Guides for the Blind. I love photography also.

My other hobbies and interests are Drawing, writing and learning the keyboard also being in a band with my younger sister.

 

 

I also enjoy sitting with my Guinea pigs Kimy and Zahra.

I collect DVD movies, trading cards, playing cards, blank greeting cards, numismatics, bird books.

Photography - I am getting a new camera soon.

I create crossword puzzles using birds as the answers.

Chrissy, that was a beautiful poem.

I play alot of golf, I like growing vegetables and gardening, and I also like working outdoors.

Most of my hobbies are unfortunately things I can't do at themoment due to being alone with the kids, mostly now I occupy myself with the animals, lots of gardening and do a bit of drawing/painting when I have time. Things I love but which I hae trouble doing at the moment are: dancing(ballroom/latin), bushwalking, skiing(we do this with the boys every winter but I don't get to do much real skiing anymore), SES, camping.
