January 7, 200916 yr Author What renee said. I understand how hard it is for you all SW. But also know of many vets that charge alot more, just because they can. What are your opinions on my Mega case SW.
January 7, 200916 yr Well via crop you know that you are giving the exact amount to that bird and they are getting it. When you put it in the water, you don't know whether they are drinking it or not and you cannot control how much they are getting. When you have a setting with many birds and you put meds in the water, some birds will drink more water than others and others less. I prefer via crop, much more accurate and reliable.
January 7, 200916 yr Megabacteria is a yeast which is a type of fungus. He is a kind man - not a money hungry vet I don't know if I should be, but I'm kind of offended by that comment. Vets don't get the government paying for half their stuff like human doctors and GPs do. That's why we have to charge. There are no government subsidies for vet medicine as there are for human medicine. A lot of vets actually go out of business because they don't charge their clients enough because they feel bad. I don't know if that was out of place and I read that in the wrong tone or not, but that's how I read it. Are you a vet already SW ? Hows the study going ? How long is your course ?
January 7, 200916 yr No, I'm not a vet yet. We just get into the habit of calling ourselves vets early on. Tee hee. :bliss: It is going good thanks. I managed to pass all my papers quite well this year and I have just lined up 4 weeks of work experience towards the end of this month. I can't wait, it definitely beats sitting around at home doing nothing. Our course is 5 years long, with the last year being like interns, not long to go, entering 4th year this year . We get to start learning surgery and do more hands on stuff. I'm going to try get some work in the wildlife ward if I can (which is mainly birds), because they get harriers and albatross in there as well as budgies and other parrots, like African greys. When Saffy was in there, her cell mate (in the next incubator box over) was a cockateil and they hit it off. So I still have lots to learn!
