Cage Cleaning & Feather Problems

hey everybody,

today were going to have a spring clean for

Jellybean's cage but I can't get him out of the

cage. When we clean the cage before we always have

to grab him. and he would bite really hard, the worst thing

is that we go back a few steps in taming him. I use to be able to

get him out of the cage and get him to fly to and fro my hands.

but lately he is really cranky or bad tempered or something + there feathers

are more feathers on the floor?

please tell me if somethings wrong.

and MERRY X-MAS :28:

Cranky and feathers equals moulting time...........he is hormonal :D

Instead of taking him out of his cage if it is the sort with a plastic base thenpress the sides in and simply take the top off and sit it somewhere else with him still on his perch

That's what my mum used to do with the budgies we had as kids... they were rescues (one from our cat's mouth, one from the noisy miners) and weren't at all tame. It works a treat! If you can't do that, you might be able to get him to step up onto a perch/stick you're holding in your hand, then come out on the perch, perhaps?
