Posted December 14, 200816 yr okay so I traveled out to the burds to find this parrot stand for Elmo only to get out there and discover that the 4 that they had in store are sold So then I got some basic parrot toys and wandered around and pippi who was with me suggested we make our own stand. So we went and got wood from a local park/nature for wildlife area and spent about $20 at Bunnings and this is the end result I have also been looking for another cage as I wanted one with flip dishes so that if I go away for a night my sister or parents can feed him without me worrying that he will bite them or at the very least do the whole "i am going to bite you" dance when they put their hand in his cage. However I found these which we just had to cut a whole in his cage and they fit great. Also fluke that we make one just the right hight so that when he is out we can flip his water around.
December 14, 200816 yr Author Thanks guys. The flip dishes are great. After doing this little project ( you should see the ladder thing that Pippi made for his Bugies) I have been starting to think that I might make a few smaller ones for my guys. some natural swings and rope ladders etc... it was a little annoying when the drill did not work but once we had a working drill it was simple! Also saved myself a bunch on money. About $130 on the stand and $540 on a new cage!
December 15, 200816 yr Author FYI the rope is not holding the logs onto the main support, the logs are screwed on the rope is to help him move up and down the main support and also to cover the screws so Elmo does not spend all his time trying to remove them!
