Posted December 11, 200816 yr Tuesday night we had our club meeting and everyone takes along their birds to see how they are going and we have these judges there one that judges nationals and 2 aspiring judges. Well the birds were uncapped and this years capped. The judges had to pick the best capped and uncapped bird then pick the winner out of those 2 and I won with this dark green possible olive cinnamon opaline uncapped hen. And besides a the capped being picked they also picked this bird another uncapped. This is the bird that Greg reckons was ordinary and I thought I was great well it turned out to be great. So overall I had a great night and bought home a trophy and 6 show cages which someone was selling for a breeder that has gone out of the hobby I paid $40.00 for 6 and they are all in great condition. If I sound to serious or dull sorry just tied, had a hard day at work.
December 11, 200816 yr OMG I am so jealous!! I haven't even be able to get my hands on ONE show cages yet, they are sooooo hard to find!! Oh and I'll still take that little one that Greg doesn't like
December 11, 200816 yr Congrats!!! I am glad you had such a great night. Winning something is always lovely
December 11, 200816 yr Author Yes Sunny it was fun, I really enjoyed the night. Geoff is getting more soon MB, he is bringing back Geoff Lowes cages not all of them but most I think so I want a few more. So far I have 15 show cages only for showing in 5 kits that I really don't want to make up as I have no time and I am so over making my own. I have 13 cages in the breeding room for training but I want 10 more for training, I want to put one each in my aviaries and one each hanging off my holding cages that I put my young in but they can be crappy no need for them to be in good condition.
December 11, 200816 yr Geez I wish I was closer, opportunities like that don't come up very often around here and when they do the long term breeders tend to get them before the beginners do.
December 11, 200816 yr Author At the meeting it was first in best dress, I could of grabbed 12 of them but I didn't have enough money on me:(Sorry MB that little bird aint going anywhere I thought it was he but now we think it is a she, I am hoping she is a she :fear but she is a badly marked opaline though which will go against her in a show, That's why she didn't win Tuesday night. December 13, 200816 yr Author Thank you everyone yep it was pleasing and it made my night but Greg still thinks that Lt green opaline spangle is not much good, so it will be interesting to see how she matures. Edited December 13, 200816 yr by splat
