Posted December 10, 200816 yr The past 48 hrs have been amazing for me! Last night I went to see a friend in hospital with a bunch of my girl friends. So that was really nice to see everyone and my sick friend is better. On the way home I picked up a new breeding pair from MB. And my BF brought me an aviary for Christmas! Plus I picked up another beautiful white bird from my work. So I am already over the moon! I finally got an amazing aviary and will soon have more little bubbas. BUT THEN... My parents, my boyfriend and my aunt and uncle went out for dinner to celebrate me graduating from uni when just before sweets my parents surprise me.... "Hunnie we have a present for you for graduating". OMG I had no idea. So really surprised I opened the presents to find...... A DIGITAL SLR! OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG! I have been wanting one since before I started uni. FOR FOREVER! OMG I burst into tears. Everyone was like, OMG is she okay! But I blubbered like a baby! I dont often want many things, but an aviary and a digital SLR were the two things I have wanted for ages. AND BOOM! All my forever christmas' have come at once. What an amazing 48 hours! Any for all those picture-aholics.... EXPECT HEAPS MORE!
December 10, 200816 yr OMG I am so jeolous!!!!!! I had a great SLR (not a digi but I still loved it) and my oldest broke it on me a while ago, I was devestated My hubby said he was going to get me one this chrissy but I said no since we have to save for the new house, so I'll wait until next year. What sort did you get, I expect reviews to help me decide what sort I should get
December 10, 200816 yr Author Ummmm its a cannon. HAHAH I have no idea. EOS 450D??? Does that mean anything to you. They made it easy for me, I didnt have to review anything! hahahahah Just gave me the camera! IM OVER THE MOOOOON!
December 10, 200816 yr Very cool ................expect to see some brilliant shots of the aviary and birds
December 10, 200816 yr Thats great. Digital SLR's rock. I'm hoping to get one for my trip to Malaysia next year. We'll see...
December 11, 200816 yr How fantastic for you, you are very lucky I want a Digital SLR but I just can't justify the cost of it with 5 growing boys as hard as I try maybe one day?
December 11, 200816 yr ARG! Now I need to learn how to use it! just think about the photo's you'll be able to take once you've read the manual. A lot of people just get an SLR and use it like a normal camera, you'll get some good pictures if you do this... read the manual and figure stuff out, you'll get great pictures. Good Luck with it and I hope you enjoy it.

December 15, 200816 yr Terrific news, Those canons are a great camera, the 450d is the latest model out. The good thing is you can use it on auto until you have it sussed. Lots of info on the camera and tricks to take pics on the PC- google is great!! If you get really keen one of the local photo shops (not the print ones, the ones that have a guy doing photos/landscapes) they usually run a course now and again or will do 1 on 1 lessons. We have a few up here. Love the slr's as they are quick, you get the photo you mean to, not the 5 seconds after the photo you wanted!! You'll have a great time setting up your aviary too!!
