Lizards Vs Snakes

Hey,

I am looking into getting either blue tongue lizards and Bearded Dragons, or a Childrens/Spotted python. What are your opinions as to which one I should choose?

Thanks

Personally I think lizards have WAY more personality. I've had both beardies and blueys and I've played with other peoples snakes. Snakes really are just happy to use you as a warm spot to sit but the lizards come barrelling up to the front of the tank to say hello when you arrive, much nicer :reading:

Personally I love snakes, but here in New Zealand we can't have them. I think a beardie would be better. But personally I love water dragons and when I have money and a house I am keen on getting one.

Ive had all and Beardies are the go, got snakes and dont do much with them. Blueis and bobtails are too sedate for 'fun' pets

I just discovered a python in one of my budgie nest boxes that had eaten both parents and half of their eggs.

It also tried to attack me when I relocated it to the creek. I do not have a very high opinion of snakes.

 OH NO !!!! Hows scary :P I am sorry about the loss of your birds

That is very unfortunate DrNat, but good on you for relocating the snake.

I think snakes are very beautiful.

So why not a waterdragon? Curious. I like how they have black and red patterns.

We have a beardie too, and whilst I think the waterdragons are more exotic to look at, from what I know of them from the reptile store, they are more aggressive than beardies. Our bearded dragon is a big ol softy

I have a beardy... he is the sweetest guy. Water dragons do NOT make good pets. They are generally not very friendly. My beardy 'Albert' is happy to run around my unit or nap on my shoulder. I would never let a Water Dragon do either... especially sit that close to my head!!!

Id love a waterdragon but we arent allowed in WA- lol They have always been my favourite

We used to have a pet beardie who had free range of the kitchen/meals area(the lino area  ) and she had a food bowl next to the cats! She used to play with the cat
