Posted November 9, 200816 yr I think that this chick will be nice when it grows up. It is a sky blue opaline spangle. The 3rd picture shows it's parents, they are an albino masking spangle hen and an opaline cobalt cock. They have 2 other chicks which are both mauve opalines. As opaline is a sex linked mutation the chicks will all be female unless the albino is also masking opaline

November 9, 200816 yr Very lovely Neville, the parents are just as lovey as the hen. Neat, the ino gene erases markings so that is why you can't see if they are carrying certain genes like recessive pied, dominant pied, opaline and many others... .
November 9, 200816 yr Gee's ... where have I seen this bird before ? I'm sure I saw it somewhere. I might have even said it was lovely & I would be pleased to see it when its fully feathered. Nice Bird Neville !
