I did candle them originally. I know two were def fertile. Isnt it to late to check now?

Take a photo of the eggs ( no flash ) the colour of them will show fertile or not.

Hmm okays. Its hard. to me they look really white (like the top picture). and my nest box opens from the top so i was shading most of the light. hope this helps:

They don't look fertile to me. See how the light sort of shines through them giving them a reddish hue in the shadow. A fertile egg does not let any light through and looks solid and opaque. But it always depends on the lighting.

Your chicky is looking sweet. HIs tummy looks like that, because their skin is so thin that you can see their guts through it.

I just re-read kaz's post as well. Whoops mis-read it the first time. Thats a real shame that the others arnt fertile. Should I leave them there just in case? At least I got one chick. I think ill be really angry if the only chick dies on me.

Yer seems to be doing fine. Its starting to support itself more. He seems to be huge today. Ill get an update picture of him (or her... I have a habit of calling everything a him... Maybe its just wishfull thinking hahaha) tomoz. Im gonna candle the remaining 2 eggs really well tomorrow as well. Baby will be 6 days old tomorrow.... feels like an eternity!But I seriously have the bug. Im looking out for my next breeding pair. Funny that the boofies are growing on me. I was so anti boof when I first joined (dammit. lol).Id love Levi to have babies one day too, But I dont think I could bear to part with my buddie... sigh

Glad to here your chick is doing well at the moment. I hope s/he keeps it up :raincloud: I know this time roud there's been a bit of heartache but I'm sure you've learnt some things too. Good luck finding a future pair... I won't mind you letting me know when you get some more bushies in :hug:

 

 

 

 

Jimmy: dont think we will be getting any more in. But Mad about Pets in Mountain Gate shopping center (FTGully Road) usually has them. Dunno where he got them from tho.
