Posted November 3, 200816 yr hi hope somebody can help me i had a mother feeding babies die within 1 hour of checking her and her babies i left the babies with the father but found them not to be very full so i hand fed them and put them in with another pair that are good foster parents the pair fed them and they looked to be getting better but 4 days ago i found the weaker of the 2 dead in the nest then 2 days later the second one was dead and then this morning the other baby belonging to the pair i found dead missylu said it might be canker the babies had dried poo around the vents which i cleaned up didnt see any signs of vomiting can somebody please help the father is still alive and the pair i fostered too are still okay too
November 3, 200816 yr Pure guesswork at this stage but I would say something pretty sinister. You really need to know or it could go through your other birds and foster parents. 7-10 days for incubation of most diseases. Edited November 3, 200816 yr by KAZ
November 3, 200816 yr Could be a Number of things - From a bacterial infections to something that no one wants in their aviary .. Best bet is to take any surviving birds to a Avian Vet and get a look over - If none are surviving grabs some Poo that is in the nest box or cage or flooring and get it tested! Death of a Clutch and or parents is NOT A GOOD SIGN
