Posted March 23, 200520 yr okay so i had a dish with water in it for sniper to have a bath in but he didnt use it apart from pooping in it which was nice, as he doesnt use this how should i go about it? I heard that you can give them a fine spray of water but really dont know enough to do it, any info on that?
March 23, 200520 yr I spray mine with a fine mist once a week Candy likes it and stops his moulting itching for ages but Patty hates it and gets all grumpy - I have yet to try it with Georgy as he is still settling in! None of my will bathe in a bath or saucer.
March 23, 200520 yr Have you tried putting some grass or lettuce in the water? If you want to try spraying then use tepid water and spray from above so that it falls like a gentle rain. Mine hate it and try and get away! When I put a dish of water out for them Budgy2 loves to bathe now but Birdy doesn't. Have you tried simply sitting there with a glass full of water for you to drink? Thats how mine discovered the joys of bathing, just flew down and dunked himself in! http://tinypic.com/pasg1 Julie Edited March 23, 200520 yr by Julie
March 23, 200520 yr i spray mine. they didnt like it at first but i think they are getting to like it a bit more now. dont make the mist too fine as it usually makes them sneeze, you can get water spray bottles with an adjustable nozzle so you can make it into rain, like julie said i think the idea with the glass of water would work too, budgies are right little copy cats! another thing i have tried is to take them into the bathroom (make sure the toilet lid is down) and wash my hands under the tap in the sink to try and encourage them to join in and have a drink/bath, it hasnt worked so far but i will keep trying! March 23, 200520 yr Woohoo i am theee happiest man alive right now, i was sitting on my bed playing xbox and sniper was sitting on top of curtain rail when he decided to come and perch on my head where he continued to sit and preen himself for 5 mins, i managed to take a picture with my camera phone too but its not the best. I will try and give him a little spray tomorrow, i also got some pics today so i'll be posting them as soon as i can figure out how.

March 24, 200520 yr I let Blinkie join me in the shower the other day and he really enjoyed himself. He much prefered showering with me than bathing in the sink by himself!
March 24, 200520 yr That sounds brilliant clarkie-what a great feeling it is. Sniper is a great macho name! Julie
March 24, 200520 yr I would love to have Blinkie climb on my head! He's more into fingers, toes and shoulders!!! My first budgie Tweety used to greet people by flying onto their head. We got our house extended and she flew onto the boss guys head!!! :(Laughing out loud):
March 24, 200520 yr I hope that sniper landing on my head is a sign of him starting to trust me but i suspect however that i was just another landing spot to which he could get to his cage from. Either way it was funny.
