December 10, 200816 yr I picked up a white hen from my store today she has a black ring : |BCV|PF3|8X|005| Can anyone shed some light on this or how old you think she might be? The X8 means she is a 2008 bird BCV is the Budgerigar Council of Victoria. PF3 is your breeders code. 005 is the legring number. Edited December 10, 200816 yr by KAZ
December 21, 200816 yr Author NEW BIRDS!: Could you guys also let me know what you think of them and how much you would pay for them each. There is a breeding pair and another younger cock that I am going to pair with my DEC. Also if you could specify mutations ect. All three: The baby cock back view: The mums back : The boys: Dads Back: BY THE WAY: Mum and dad have just had a clutch so she is looking a little ragged Edited December 21, 200816 yr by jwancia
December 21, 200816 yr very nice  Nice pieds... and does the big patch mean dominant died or recessive... I can't remember...
December 21, 200816 yr The more I look the more convinced it is Dom Pied. I like the cock the most. As for how much I would expect to pay... I dunno... I see birds in pet shops some times for 30 - 40 I think that's a rip for pet type birds  What did you pay?
December 21, 200816 yr Author I just wanna see what everyone else thinks first. But no one wants to talk! Are they really that bad!?Alsothey are not that small. The male is quite a big boy.
December 21, 200816 yr i didn't say they were bad!!! i think they are nice! Your grey cock is my favourite. I thought he was a bit bigger than the other two but I couldn't tell if it was because of his posture or if he was infact bigger. I was just having a go at pet shops as far as price is concerned... I paid $20 bucks each for Lip and Len, now the breeder told me they were male and female so I feel a bit jibbed but at the same time if I went to a pet shop I'd be paying at least 40 each for them  I'm thinking you would get a discount for being staff so I suspect that you got them at a bargain...
December 21, 200816 yr Personally I would pay $10 each for the blue pieds and $20 the bigger bird. Very nice birds.
December 21, 200816 yr jwancia, your birds look great. I love dominant pieds... especially grey & violets. If it wasn't so close to Christmas I would make the trip to your shop to pickup some for myself.
December 21, 200816 yr They look beautiful Jwancia, unfortunately I do not have enought knowledge to help with mutations. I love them all but especially the big boy he is lovely
December 21, 200816 yr They are all dominant pieds (or dieds as Jimmy put it). The blues are both cobalts and the grey looks like it has only one grey factor. What its base blue is I don't know, but probably cobalt just like the other two. Oh and big head spot tends to indicate dom pied, with little head spot indicating recessive pied
December 21, 200816 yr Hey I didn't double post.. There was a post there... And yes thanks for pointing out I called them dieds... I think we all know they are pies I mean pieds.
December 21, 200816 yr They are gorgeous They are all dominant pieds and the one in the middle is also an opaline
December 23, 200816 yr i would like to come & see. where is the shop. Is it a knox city? snowy I took the best lol.
December 23, 200816 yr Author Its called fantastic pets and Its next to bunnings at fountain gate in narre warren
December 23, 200816 yr I thought SW and Elly had already told you what they were...that's why I hadn't repeated it
December 23, 200816 yr Author But also people opinions on if they are good and how much they would pay for them ect.
December 23, 200816 yr thanks. will visit after xmas. snowy Its called fantastic pets and Its next to bunnings at fountain gate in narre warren
December 23, 200816 yr They look healthy if that's what you mean. I'm not sure in what respect you mean 'good' I will pay only about $10 each for a regular pet type bird
January 8, 200916 yr Author New Additions today!!! Can anyone please tell me what mutations etc they are. They are living out their quarantine in the breeding box. Hopefully they will pair up while in there. Can anyone also tell me what babies they would produce? Edited January 9, 200916 yr by maesie
January 8, 200916 yr Is the green hen a bush budgie? Are you going to breed them? They are both very good Nevermind I didnt see the other text. Hen looks to be a light green opaline and the cock looks like a mauve?? normal. Edited January 8, 200916 yr by budgie88
