Posted September 9, 200816 yr Hi Guys, okay so I did my first cull the other day and really wanted a big green normal to go over my Lutino hen, which I got!!!! When I got the boy home set him up in quarrintine and had a good look at him I realised that I had miss judged my other green male's colour. So am I correct in thinking that Cole is actually a Green Cinnamon? Its an old photo and he was starting his moult! But the colour is close to what he normally looks like! He is the father of my first clutch and I know that the babies are cinnamon! So is the mother! I am sure the babies are going to be green cinnamon's as well! So am I correct in thinking that Dad is a Green cinnamon and the babies likely to follow in his foot steps.
September 9, 200816 yr He does look cinny to me .. If paired to another cinnamon or / cinny they will produce cinny babies If paired to a normal the Baby Hens will be cinny * God i hope i got that one right
September 9, 200816 yr i would need a better picture of cole, from that shoot he could be noraml, greywing or cinnamon as the flash his playing with the colours, i can't see the flights or the tail. going on just the thoat spots i would think normal. Males can be split cinnamon and so if the chicks are cinnamon then they are all hens. NEAT - sounds right to me (with outcomes) males will be split cinny Edited September 9, 200816 yr by Nerwen
September 9, 200816 yr Unless the mother is a cinnamon also. In that case the cinnamon babies will be any sex Edited September 9, 200816 yr by Sailorwolf
September 9, 200816 yr He looks cinnamon to me, but as Nerwen says the flash could be the cause of that
September 9, 200816 yr Author hey guys thanks here is a photo taken with the flash off! Its not the best but will see what you think!
September 9, 200816 yr He looks cinnamon to me too. If he is cinnamon and he is mated to a cinnamon hen then all the chicks will be cinnamon. If he is a split then half of the chicks of both sexes would be normals. A cinnamon cock mated to a normal hen will produce cinnamon hens and normal/cinnamon cocks. A normal split cinnamon cock mated to a normal hen will produce 25% cinnamon hens, 25% normal hens, 25% normal/cinnamon cocks and 25% normal cocks
