August 25, 200816 yr The links for ebay never work I saw that one a few days ago!! Makes my blood boil as they say "New Round Bird Cage Aviary-Budgie,Parrot,Macaw" Macaw!!! MACAW!!! OMG!!! This WILL NOT FIT IN THIS!!!!!! Grrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!
August 25, 200816 yr I sent them an email As a bird owner of hundreds of budgies, parrots, finches and canaries....you have to know that cage is not suitable for anything but finches or canaries. False advertising to say it suits parrots and macaws !!! Shame on you. Here's another macaw cage from the same seller Edited August 25, 200816 yr by KAZ
August 26, 200816 yr There should be a thing with Ebay that states what birds can fit into what cages.. This is just asking for problems ....
August 26, 200816 yr ive got that cage KAZ as Bing's travel cage and it's even too small for him! Edited August 26, 200816 yr by Andrew
August 26, 200816 yr What I want to know, is how would you even get the macaw into the cage!!!! You can't even fit it through the door!! A macaw has tail feathers that are 80cm long, that is double the length of both of the cages. The macaw, if it was managed to be stuffed in the cage without lopping off the people's fingers that put it in there, would chew its way through the bars in no time. Idiots Edited August 26, 200816 yr by Sailorwolf
August 27, 200816 yr grrrr.... ugh l cannot believe that someone is actually bidding for this item
August 29, 200816 yr I sent them an email As a bird owner of hundreds of budgies, parrots, finches and canaries....you have to know that cage is not suitable for anything but finches or canaries. False advertising to say it suits parrots and macaws !!! Shame on you. Here's another macaw cage from the same seller Just got a return email from the seller of these cages thanks for the feedback, we have updated our description (in the new listings, nightly cycle with updates, but only for new listings). we are not very familiar with birds, so just trying to be meaningful with our descriptions, no intention was made to mislead the public. cheers

August 29, 200816 yr Did you look to see if the description was changed? cage is still advertised the same, i am going to follow Kaz's lead and email them
August 30, 200816 yr They are still listing them today with the same title. What puzzles me though is that the larger cages have never been advertised as suitable for macaws but the smaller ones are???? I have just emailed the seller
September 1, 200816 yr Some of these listings have changed Brand New Bird Cage Finch, Canary -White http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Brand-New-Bird-Cage...1QQcmdZViewItem
September 1, 200816 yr If a seller is a dealer and sells in buk then the listing can be done using a template which is set to post every couple of weeks. I think what the seller was saying to you Kaz is that the listings will update as they cycle into the new fortnight. So it may take a couple of weeks before listings start showing up with the new wording.

Maybe if we all keep watch on such things and EDUCATE we can make a difference and potential customers wont be housing birds in the wrong kinds of cages
September 2, 200816 yr This one http://cgi.ebay.com.au/STUNNING-SMALL-SIZE...1QQcmdZViewItem I have sent an email. As the owner and breeder of hundreds of budgies, parrots, finches and cananries, I have to tell you the onlt thing that would fit in that cage is a canary or a finch...one and no more. Even then it would not be happy as the space is very limited. It is false advertising to say it is suitable for a budgie as it is not. I suggest you rethink your wording and in particular the pictures of macaws, kingfisher etc adorning your cage. Your actions are being watched by a bird welfare group who are hoping you will do the right thing with regard to proper advertising of your cages. By the way, as we also give the size of the bird cage, we do think the bidder should read it carefully and think about if the size fit their birds, thanks.
