Crafty And Clever Bbc Members

Different posts I read on here show that as individuals a lot of our BBC members have hidden talents. They are a crafty lot. Great with tools and crafts ...making aviaries, doing homecrafts, knitting, sewing, artists etc etc.

What do you do as a craft or what do you like to work with .......... i.e. woodwork, art etc ?

Great post idea Kaz... (Don't forget your talents too!!!) I love seeing everyone's artistic talents. I posted this awhile ago now, but thought I'd add it here again.

Unlike some members on here, I can't draw very well and painting pictures isn't really my thing, but I do like to make Teddy Bear and soft toys (esp. for my niece and nephew). I also enjoy building things, like my aviary, furnature and alike. For my nephews christening, I built him a toy box. (don't have any photos but you can take my word for it, it was fab). So, when my niece (who is also my God daughter) was christened, I built her a Doll's house. Here are some pics of it:

Bathroom. I did buy lino to use on the floor, but decided to lay individual glass tiles and then grout them... Brilliant thinking :hap: lol, but it does look good.

My niece is now 14 months old and loves playing with it. Her and her brother loves to move around the furnature, take the family for drives in the car, and make a great mess. It's awsome to see their faces when they're playing...

Wow...Maesie. That doll house is fabulous :P You have a fine eye for detail.

Besides glass ( leadlights ) I like to work with wood too. My grand daughters first birthday is incentive to start and finish a project in the same week ( not one of my strong points ) :hap:

I am making her a rocking horse for her birthday. MY Dad had a pattern for a rocking horse he made when I was 2-3 yrs old, and he had made one for my children when they were little. As he is past working with tools now he gave me the pattern ( pattern is about 60 yrs old ) and I am making it for Evie. Today I have cut it all out, assembled the body and legs. Tomorrow I have to do the rest of the assembly and put it onto the rockers. Paint the day after.

I crochet and I sew. I can sew anything if I am in the mood. I like to make some soft toys like raggedy ann dolls. I like to sew dolls clothes. I have enough fabric in the cupboard to sink a large ship.

I cant knit for nuts....crocheting is faster.

Hello...sounds like some talented folks are here on the BBC, I know who to ask if and when I start woodworking!

I am a knitter - I used to be really into cabled sweaters - know it's more like hats and mitts for my nephews, or dishclothes! I also collect paper, hand-made, etcetera, and have been known to make a few hardcover books in my time ...I also like to draw/paint, and I am a bread baker!

I like stamping so i make cards and wall hangers. Here is a picture of lucy,s bday card i finished making last week. Do not have pics of anything else i have done because i give them away as presents.

I used to draw & paint when I was young, I went to East Sydney Technical College [Art school] for 6 years. Haven’t drawn or anything for years, mostly I was interested in drawing animals & birds.

I started keeping bees when I was 21 when I caught a swarm, have been keeping bees now for 47 years, used to sell Queens bees that I bred, only breed for myself these days. I love building anything like sheds aviaries; feel real good when I’m building some project. My friend has bought a kit garage, so I will be busy with that soon, it will be my first kit, I like building my own type sheds really. Good to see all you other guys, talents.

Well I dont get much time for crafty things anymore, but I can knit (when my children were little I would knit their jumpers with Bananas in Pyjamas, Bart from the Simpsons, and many other cartoon characters on the front), The day I found out I was pregnant (after many years on IVF) I started to knit a very lacy shawl for the baby which had something like 400 stitches on size 12 needles!! (for those who dont knit, it took about half an hour just to do one row!) It took about 3 -4 months to make!! I also do cross stitching, tapestry, folkart and patchwork - here are just a few examples!!

We have some very talented people here! When I was much younger I used to draw quite a bit - horses, dogs, and birds. Never could draw people for squat. :P I think if I had kept up with it I could have been fairly good, I don't know why I ever stopped. I found it therapeutic in a way, and very relaxing. Life gets in the way sometimes I guess. Reading this thread got me to thinking about it (danger, danger......) as I still have tons of different pencils, paper, smudgers, and stuff from when I used to draw hidden away in a closet. Anyway, a while ago I drew one of my budgies (after about a 20 year hiatus) and thought I'd post it up since the idea is in my head now to start drawing again. :)

Well you guys have seen some of my handiwork, but I thought I would re post it here:

I really want to get back in to drawing again, I was doodling during lectures this morning and started something that would look quite good, so I think I will try to replicate it on some good paper that is not lined!

My sketches

These are done from my head. Most of my dtrawings are done from my head with no picture for reference.

WOW So many talented people!!!

I am not really talented in anything particular.

I have created 2 websites, as well as others which are not really doing anything.

Totally Tiels Forum

Net Savvy Mums

I am good with digital media - editing photos, animation, video and music etc.

I think i am pretty good at paper tole ( 3D decoupage) - I haven't done any for ages!! I must get back into it. Here is my favorite (photo doesn't do justice as its though glass)

tole.jpg

I worked for 6 months on McLeod's Daughters as an extra, but that didn't contain any real talent but was brilliant for my ego :D

My pride and joy is a teleplay of a complete episode of House Md I wrote last year :D

script.jpg

Hours upon hours of research and time when in to it - it took about 6 months to write (it's 75 pages).

I am also writing a thriller movie and am looking into doing a TV series as well :D

I can also sew anything i put my mind to.

I can also work with wood :P

Just an extra though out season 4 and 5. I was on and off set for about 2 years (but about 6 months of total work) . I Started with Nick and Tess' wedding and can be spotted all the way though to Harry's funeral. :D

That's funny! Bob and i were going to buy the series, so now I'll be able to play spot the Liv whilst watching them :D

Yay ...SPOT THE LIV :D

I'll do that too

Wow! What a bevvy of talent: beautiful drawings everyone, and exciting writing accomplishments, Liv... Does that mean you wrote an episode of House that was used in the series, or was what you wrote based on one of the episodes written by someone else?

She writes her own custom episodes she'd like to be used as one in the series :D
