Posted July 31, 200816 yr I left in a hurry this morning as we were running late and forgot to check that the bathroom and toilet doors were closed. Our persian cat has a tendancy to get his head stuck in the toilet, I caught him in time last week as I heard him growling. When I got home today our other cat was howling up the passage so I went to see why and then I seen it, our beautiful persian was stuck in the toilet all wet and not moving. I froze and screamed, pulled him straight out but I was to late he was gone. I am devastated, I have no idea how I am going to tell my boys when they get home tonight. :angel1: Panda If that wasn't bad enough I did the avairy rounds and found 3 of our 4 baby finch dead on the floor and the 4th squawking for food and the mother ignoring it. They keep jumping out of the nest and get stuck on the floor and I think it has been to cold and they haven't made it. Sorry for burdening you with this but as I sit here in tears I needed to get it out.

July 31, 200816 yr Oh no Denise - I am so sorry Dont be too hard on yourself though after all it was a complete accident. Unfortunately sometimes things happen like that and there's nothing much we can do about it. We all forget to do things which have a big impact sometimes. Biggest hugs to you and your family :angel1: Its also very sad about your finches, some days you just shouldnt get out of bed......

August 4, 200816 yr Author Thank you all for you kind thoughts and wishes. The boys took it really hard especially my 9 year old he is the most sensitive of them all, he cried all night and I held him until he finally went to sleep about 3.30am Friday morning. He has been unconsolable, I'm not quite sure how else I can help him get through this. I think he blames himself because he was the last one in the toilet that morning and he didn't shut the door properly. I have explained to him that it was just a freak accident and no-one is to blame?? :hap:
