July 2, 200816 yr Author BG is still doing a lot better I am feeling more and more confident about his future. I have decided that he will spend the rest of the cold weather inside with my other inside birds .
July 4, 200816 yr Oh Liv, that is fantastic. He's such a gorgeouos guy, I'm so happy he's doing better. I know I was really worried about my budgie at one point, Joey was 15 and I had moved into geriatric care with him, but he hung on for a whole other year and a half....and it was lovely time. I hope for this and more with your precious buddy.
August 2, 200816 yr Author It has been just over a 1 month since i took BG to the vets and got the devastating news that he was going to die. Here is BG today living with my insiders and being totally spoilt, and looking GREAT The beautiful boy sings his little heart out all day and I have even seen him playing with the Olympic rings. Who said show budgies don't like toys he even comes out for a fly every now and then, but he tires easily and prefers to lounge in the cage instead. Edited August 2, 200816 yr by **Liv**
August 2, 200816 yr LOL sounds like many old guys I know happy to get out and about but run out of steam very quickly!
August 3, 200816 yr Author Thanks everyone I am thrilled he is still with me. He is very special to me and it is so nice to see he is very happy and living a quality life with my insiders. When the night warm up again (around summer) i might put him back in the aviary, but will have to see how he goes, as he might need to spend the rest of his time inside
September 27, 200816 yr Author An update... BG is fading fast :fear He is not showing signs of infection or poopy bum, weight loss etc. He is just weak and choosing to sit asleep on the bottom of the cage. I think his end is very near He doesn't appear to be suffering. I am leaving him quiet and peaceful and i think within the next hour he will be gone
September 27, 200816 yr Author Oh LIV... I'm so sorry mate. I hope he passes peacefully. Biggest hugs xoxo Thanks Maesie. I hope so too. Everything seems peaceful - he is just sitting asleep in the corner on the bottom of the cage. I have left him in his cage with my other inside birds so he is in his "safe place" and around all the normal sounds.
September 27, 200816 yr Sorry to hear your news Liv. At least he has had a happy life with you :angel1:
