Posted June 19, 200817 yr My parents are in their late 70's and have always been in excellent health - but Mum rang tonight with some worrying news. My father has an anurism in his stomach He will be having an operation to repair it Saturday week and will be in hospital for a week or so and will then need 6 weeks rest to recouperalte. This sort of news really brings home how much your family means to you when there is risk of losing them. You realise they wont be around for ever, and every moment with them is precious. Mum then went on to tell me her sister is not expected to live much longer. She has been in a nursing home since she contracted a brain infection years ago and now her body is starting to shut down. How much worse can a day get?? Edited June 19, 200817 yr by jenene283
June 19, 200817 yr Hugs, my MIL had a busted hernia and just went in for surgery so I understand. They diagnosed her with a viral infection and sent her home from the ER can you believe it and called her back the next day thank goodness and said she had a busted hernia and get in NOW, as they were worried that the infection from it could cause her to loose 7 inches of her bowel, thank goodness she didn't and she is now in recovery. BIG hugs to you!
June 19, 200817 yr Huggles and hot chocolate for you. Wishing you the best. Edited June 19, 200817 yr by Sailorwolf

June 20, 200817 yr Author Sad news - my auntie passed away today. She had been quite sick for a long time so at least now she is in a better place and free of pain and suffering. More sad news - a friend of mine who I met at a sewing class years ago was killed along with her daughter in a car accident. She apparently turned onto the main road and failed to see a semi trailer coming. I only saw her yesterday, didnt get to chat but we smiled and waved to each other - now she is gone.    Edited June 20, 200817 yr by jenene283

June 21, 200817 yr Biggest Hugs Jenene!!! Thinking of you and your family during this hard time. Lots of prayers and love comming your way!!!!!
June 21, 200817 yr I am so sorry Jenene Life is dealing you some hard to cope with things right now. Sometimes you get to feel as if life just isnt fair and what's next ?! I wish you were within hugging distance, but you have to know you have a great support team here and if we could be there for you physically we would be. Take a few moments to smell the roses, so to speak, for if you dont stop and look after yourself, and just get busy instead...it catches up. Tears help. They clear the fog and get us through. Love Kaz

June 29, 200816 yr Author I am very happy to report my Dad's operation went very well and he is well on the way to excellent health once again! The operation took 5 hours. I visited him not long after it was over and he had endless tubes etc coming from him everywhere and it was not good seeing him like that. But this morning he was sitting up in a chair and talking away like nothing had happened!! He still has the tubes but he is much more alert than 24hours earlier!! Thank God the anurism was found in time as if it hadnt he couldve died very suddenly without any warning. He has to spend the rest of the week in hospital and recouperate for 6 weeks. The doctor said it will take about 6 months before he feels back to normal. Edited June 29, 200816 yr by jenene283

I am just so relieved Dad is going to be okay. I have my Auntie's funeral to get through tomorrow, so lets hope there'll be no more sad news for a long long long time!!!
