The budgie i saw today had very clear markings. perhaps they are good spangle markings rather than opaline :) ....???

It's a green bird with markings like this (above picture) but the markings are much thicker and clear, not 'blurred' like the opaline spangle ... :)

She is quite a nice sized hen too (in a pet shop)

I have some like that where the body colour replaces the proper black spangles, does that sound about right?

Like this goldenface spangle guy:

Not exactly... From my memory the markings are dark and probably a bit thicker than those of your bird.

I have to pop to the shops again in a moment, so i will take another look at her (never know i might even bring her home hahah)

Thats a very pretty budgie MB :D

My memory is getting all scrambled :) - i would be no good as a witness looking at a lineup of criminals hahaha.

I don't think I actually have that one anymore, it went to someone, AV, or Nadi maybe?? I'll have to redo my catalogue so I know what colours are actually out there :)

They ( if i remember correctly) are true spangle markings .......... show breeders can comment on that :D

Neat is exactly right on this point :D

She's a Yf spangle, with my birds I find as babies they'll always have darker markinging, it'll moult out and not be soo mottled as she gets older, although they're still always alot darker than my normal spangles markings.

The others are right those are what a good Spangle is supposed to look like. The paler ones are what are considered show faults. Good purchase, lets hope you can breed some good ones from her.

Hey, thanks guys!! :hap:

Sorry i didn't get back sooner - My internet provider had a wide spread 'crash' over all of SA last night and it has only JUST come back on line

When i saw her in the shop i knew she looked special. She is a nice size too (for a pet type) and i plan to breed with her next year :hap:

I will have to work out a partner for her to ensure her true markings are passed on :hap:
