Posted June 3, 200816 yr Well at this stage not affecting me at all but it seems Batman has had to downsize due to the higher fuel costs we are currently experiancing
June 3, 200816 yr Oh!!! Dont get me started on this topic!!!! We don't go anywhere any more. We used to go away for driving trips, holidays and leasure weekends!! We don't now because petrol is too expensive Edited June 3, 200816 yr by **Liv**
June 3, 200816 yr I haven't had a problem... but then again, maybe that's because I don't drive although I do feel very sorry for alot of people being affected by this.
June 3, 200816 yr we are in the same position as Liv, we used to go for drives with the kids on the weekend and we have had to stop. My husband has started taking the train to work because it is cheaper but we own a 4wd that is a turbo diesel.
June 3, 200816 yr My hubby takes the train to work a few times a week too He walks or rides to the station - great exercise for him, so thats a plus to the fuel rises
June 3, 200816 yr Author Thats a great picture Derek!Where on earth did you find it. I didnt someone else did.
June 3, 200816 yr There are researchers working on using solar power to generate hydrogen to power hydrogen cars. Can't come soon enough, but suffering from lack of funding, somehow I think our illustrious government would rather collect their taxes on fuel for the time being instead of actually solving some of our energy problems with clean, green energy. Makes me mad that such technology has been around for decades and hasn't been developed.
June 6, 200816 yr Derek, you big kid Do you still have G I Joes figures ?? or is it all batman and robin now hehe
June 6, 200816 yr Author Derek, you big kid Do you still have G I Joes figures ?? or is it all batman and robin now hehe As Robin once called out to Batman, "Holy rubbers Batman .............. Batwoman is pregnant again".
June 6, 200816 yr Hahaha it's a widdle batman go go mobile ... Fuel is around the $1.50-$1.58 per litre at the moment I fill up on a Tuesday morning as it is Tight ar se day ... Petorl prices peak On Monday mornings Wednesdays and Fridays.... Try filling up early in the morning as the fuel hasn't expanded then and you get more to the litre then in the afternoons when it has had time to warm up ......... Oh an pump slow when you squezze the trigger it pumps more air in the tank .....
June 6, 200816 yr You think you got problems ?? Try driving a 3 ton hearse that does 9 miles per gallon
June 6, 200816 yr I have some really great emails with pics about the fuel prices but I can't get the picture's to copy... Pity. They were good.
June 6, 200816 yr I did hear of government subsidies available to convert petrol cars to LPG. Maybe ask a mechanic?
June 6, 200816 yr Nothing worse then running out of gas ... ( been there done that ) you hvae to get it towed
June 7, 200816 yr Fuel costs are outrageous where I am also. The last time I filled up my car it was $4.19 per gallon. I pretty much only drive to work as it's more of a hassle to take the train from where I live. Luckily most things I need are within a few miles of where I live so groceries, etc. isn't bad I use less than a gallon to go to the store. I used to take drives on the weekend, or take "day trips" - you know within 3 hours or so away - but don't do that anymore. Since it costs $60.00 USD to fill up my car I just don't drive much anymore. It gets great highway gas mileage considering but it's just too expensive.
June 16, 200816 yr Fuel is absolutely terrible, it is around $5.00 to every 10g of gas here so around $4.00 as we drove through different states on our vacation the highest was 4.12 in Pennslyviania and the lowest was 3.79 in North Carolina, it doesn't make it feasible for a road trip, I am glad we went when we did because the gas is going to be even higher, I feel for those people with their trucks they are paying a bundle, the goverment is going to have to do something or driving will only be for the rich very soon.
June 19, 200816 yr Hahaha it's a widdle batman go go mobile ... Fuel is around the $1.50-$1.58 per litre at the moment I fill up on a Tuesday morning as it is Tight ar se day ... Oh an pump slow when you squezze the trigger it pumps more air in the tank ..... WOW..what a good and helpfull suggestion, i usually do just the opposite and fill towards the end of the day just because it might get a bit cheaper. Thanks for that. Well yes the petrol prices are going worse every day, so what i did? I just bought 4 cylnders 2007 camry a few months ago and booked now to convert it to gas next month. Even though it's 4 cylnders, saving is saving ! Finally, i would like to tell you a Turkish joke. Temel was told by his friend that the petrol prices were always going up and it costs more everyday. Temel was so calm and relaxed, said: "Oh, no it's not a problem for me at all" "How come ?"..."Don't you drive a car like me" Temel : " Oh yes of course, but i always buy $50 fuel " :hap:
June 19, 200816 yr Oh well my mums job is mostly driving around picking up old and disabled people and taking them shopping :hap: She hates driving now
June 19, 200816 yr I am the same I have to drive my car to work because my boss may need me to have the car or I have to do drop off and/or pick up with the kids.... at least she gave me a car park pass so I don't have to pay for parking in the city!
