okay, so I love my birds. I started breeding budgies because I thought it would be a good experience for my daughters. And I have found I am enjoying it so much more than I thought... My husband cannot believe that I have changed so much I was freaked out by birds 2 years ago and now I spend every day with them. Yes I have turned into a bird lady! My babys are coming up on 6 weeks now and I am starting to freak about giving away some of the babys. They are going to friends. But I think about how hard it is going to be... Does it get easier?

The first time is really hard : -

you have looked after them, help raised them, freaked out about them, cried when the first egg hatched to see that pink little wriggly jelly bean,

- to seeing just excatly what colours they end u being, it is hard mate you think are my friends going to give them free fly time, will they give the fruits and veggies use natural perches etc ...

then you kinda re think about giving them away - I still have 4 from my very first clutch hehehe

 

It gets easier, believe me it does

 

Fantastic that you have overcome your fear of birds though heheh -

your a better person than me because im sure i would end up with a housefull! but at least they are going to people you know so you could still see them grow up

A house full- well I'm getting there.. I have had people asking me for babys- and tomorrow I have decided it's time for the first to go to her new home.. I couldn't let her go until i was sure she was ready. I'm happy and sad at the same time!!
