Posted May 10, 200817 yr This is a female budgie that I bought last weekend. She is very pretty but photos not showing it very well. She is a pale violet on the belly and her wings are white with the pale violet scalloped bits (if that makes sense?)
May 10, 200817 yr She is not a fallow, as fallows have red eyes. Can you get any pictures of her where it's not over exposed so we can see the markings better? perhaps in a darker room?
May 10, 200817 yr Author I didn't use the flash on the photos. The wings are pretty much as the pictures show. Yes she does have the violet on her rump.
May 10, 200817 yr Author Anyway of darkening it in a dark room then to see the markings? I will try later, camera batteries are on charger now. Maybe the photo is the problem. Are her eyes deep red? Eyes are black
May 10, 200817 yr Her eyes are black, with iris rings. She has some kind of spangle markings on her, but i can't tell if she's got pied in her too or opaline.
May 10, 200817 yr Libby if you look carefully you can see markings in the V between her shoulders so probably not opaline. If it wasn't for the eyes she is identical to my fallows which is very interesting
May 10, 200817 yr Not all opalines have a clear V. I'm not saying it is a definate opaline, i said it has a possibility of being one, or pied. It has something else thrown in with the spangling.

She is a pale violet on the belly and her wings are white with the pale violet scalloped bits (if that makes sense?) I agree with Nerwen on the Diute as the Violet is very pale ... Wht ever she is Denise she is a Stunner, Send her my way
May 10, 200817 yr Yep that was my first thought same as Nerwen, she is a beautiful bird...you should enter this picture for June Budgie of the Month found in the competition section
May 10, 200817 yr I think She is probably a Black Eyed Self [bES White] that's a Dilute, with suffusion & certainly there could be some Violet in it too. Edited May 10, 200817 yr by Norm
May 12, 200817 yr Author violet greywing/dilute There is no grey on her wings, it is definitely pale violet on her wings.
May 16, 200817 yr grey wing wasn't meaning that there was grey on the wings, that is the name of one of the dilute genes in budgies, but I agree with Norm that dilute would match better. we would need better pictures of the wing to tell any more
