Just wondering, Im plaining of trying some sweet potato but its really hard stuff and was wondering how you serve it to your budgies?

freshly cut up into small bits

grated

other??

Sweet potato is great! But I have never given i to my birds raw, I usually Grate some up and steam it so it is soft and cooked as some potatos aren't good raw for birds, Or Like birdluv said cook and mash it up ... But it can not stay out very long as it does go bad quicker then other veggies .......

I feed mine the skins that I peel off the WASHED sweet potato raw. (I eat the sweet potato myself!)

They also get raw pumpkin skins, watermelon rinds, carrot peels, apple skins, raw beetroot etc.

Any safe peels from the kitchen from fruit and vegetables that have been washed thoroughly.

I eat it before it gets to the avairy , MMMMMMMMM Sweet potato

Speaking of sweet potato i gave my guys some today. I cooked myself steamed veggies last night, and put some of the sweet potato aside for the fids, mashed it and gave it to them today. I have to say it's a terrifying food to feed. :D Once the birds were done with it there was potato on the walls, table, floor, my eyebrows (no joke) - they sure know how to fling it a long way! :D

I give the peelings and the sweet potato raw to my birds and they benefit greatly from it, happier, chirpier i find

I had no idea there were so many kinds of veggies that budgies can eat!

We give ours a big variety but I've never even thought about sweet potato or pumpkin. We have a sweet potato at the moment and I was going to cook it tonight. I better save some for our feathered friends.
