Posted May 4, 200817 yr I came back today home and i noticed that my budgie looked a bit sick.... my mum was here to look after him but its not like she would know if he is sick or not..... He does not have as many droppings as he usualy does and the droppings he does have are big and sloopy.... i think he should be okay ill check him tomorrow.......
May 4, 200817 yr Author None are that bad... ill put up a photo he is doing some chirps now so maybe he is okay http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w249/Ph...om/P5030841.jpg Edited May 4, 200817 yr by Budgie's r cool
May 4, 200817 yr Warmth always helps a sick budgie...put a warm lamp by his cage....25 to 40 watt globe.
May 4, 200817 yr Author so you do think he is sick by looking at the photos! I think it would be because of the cold.... but there is a chance it could be diet as he has been eating a bit more seed latley because he has been regurgitating a lot to his mirror.
May 4, 200817 yr Budgies will eat more in the colder months as they need to keep themselves warm so their body functions need more energy to kep themselves warm. Thus more food . A picture of the bird would be more helpful to see if he is sick , But my impression is more like the change. Keep an eye on him and stop the soft foods and greens for about 3 days and monitor his droppings.
May 4, 200817 yr Author okay thank you for your help i will take the mirror out... but i hope he will not get angry when i take it out! When i took it out a while ago he got very angry.
May 4, 200817 yr okay thank you for your help i will take the mirror out... but i hope he will not get angry when i take it out! When i took it out a while ago he got very angry. He gets angry because he has bonded with it...as far as he is concerned it is his "girlfriend" . Best he doesnt have a mirror.
May 4, 200817 yr Author okay i will take it off soon, we covered his cage 3/4 around and changed the bottom of his cage. i will take the mirror off soon its just he is chripring to it now
May 4, 200817 yr If his poops are sloppy and he is huddled and quiet then you need to get him to an avian vet ASAP. Keep him very warm and covered. I am hoping it is nothing but it sounds very similar to what had happened to Pretty. So fingers crossed he is better and doesn't go down hill quickly. Do you have an avian vet already in mind? The faster the better.
May 5, 200817 yr Author Did you see the photos,i think i could get him to a vet. There is only one avian vet in My city though.he has been chirping a lot today, a lot more.... but he still does not have much poo and the ones he does have arnt that sloppy but are big. Edited May 5, 200817 yr by Elly DON'T use u = you please as it is an unapproved shortcut thank you
May 5, 200817 yr Are you sure he's a boy? Because if he is actually a girl then she may be coming into lay thinking that the mirror is her partner. Could you show us a picture of him please. Edited May 5, 200817 yr by Sailorwolf
