16 & 17 are cobalts. Their markings appear lighter than they actually are.

Darcy is a lacewing, albino cannot 'look' lacewing.

Very Nice Karen, I might have a couple to join them.

I told MB that I thought her bird might be a Fallow, but it’s not a TCB as you found out, as they have pale wing flights. To me it’s eyes still look more like a Fallows, but if they are not red I guess the judge is right, I often have trouble with some of my Cinnamon Opaline Grey Greens in the aviary with TCB often the light flight feathers is the only difference that you can see in them.

What makes you think fallow? I thought fallow had a patch across the rump.

I said 6 was carrying opaline

How can you tell?

This is my theory. Males carrying opaline have a small amount of opalescense over the head, neck and proposed V area of an opaline. So far all my males that have had this have produced opalines. Although I haven't bred enough to sufficiently prove it. Not all males have the opalescense either, my Robbie doesn't and I would assume he is not carrying it. I also notice that none of my unopaline girls have any opalescense at all

okay, I remember you saying that before, I just needed a reminder ....the other theory is that he is carrying the violet gene vs the opaline gene this would be a good question to ask the bigger breeders to see what they notice too.

There could be opaline in the birds back ground because of that trait but he maynot be directly carrying opaline. He maybe 3rd, 4th or even latter split.

Do you mean a suffusion of colour on the rump? Sometimes but not necessary. The defining factor of whether your bird is a Cinnamon Opaline grey Green or Green Fallow is whether it has Red yes, are they definitely Black or Pinkish Red? Look at the Olive German Fallow in Ravengypsy’s web page under mutations, don’t you think she looks like that?
