Posted April 22, 200817 yr im getting a budgie today and it's full yellow with a strip of green going down his back and do you know if it's a latino or what cause I dont know :hap: :hap:
April 22, 200817 yr Hello and welcome Not lutino if it has green on it. A Lutino will be all yellow with red eyes and no iris ring (White ring in the eye). It is possibly a double factor (DF) dominant pied, DF spangle or a recessive pied. Edited April 22, 200817 yr by **Liv**
April 22, 200817 yr I am pety sure it is not a LATINO as that is a person from a South American background. Like it was said, Lutino's have no green, nor do DF spangles. It is either a DF dominant pied or a recessive pied. How old is it? Does it have iris rings? Any pics when you get it would help.
April 22, 200817 yr I agree with Dave LIV DF spangles dont have green on them. Edited April 23, 200817 yr by KAZ

April 23, 200817 yr LIV DF spangles dont have green on them. Thanks for clearing that up for me I have a DF spangle that i have always thought was a lutino until a few weeks ago hahahaha!!! (oh and she dosen't have green on her either!)
April 23, 200817 yr Not strictly true. Some df spangles and also some ino's get what is called suffision. For the yellow based birds it appears as green on them. For white based birds it appears blue. And for yf birds some what blue or green, depending on the type of yf. The point is they're not Meant to have it though lol
April 24, 200817 yr Yes my DF spangle baby had a very deep green suffusion. When his pin feathers were coming through I thought he was going to have a green tummy even!
April 24, 200817 yr Is there such thnig as a yellow fallow? :hap: If the colour is only on the rump and nowhere else it could be a fallow... Edited April 24, 200817 yr by melbournebudgies
