I have been surfing the net and it mentions that a RAINBOW budgie is a budgie wit 3 colours is this correct???

I was searching rainbow budgies today too ****weird psychic stuff happening heheheh****

They are so pretty - I found that they are technically a blue (any blue to violet) golden face Opaline.

Here is a Link

"Rainbows" are a composite variety encompassing mixtures of yellowface or goldenface blue cinnamon opaline and clearwings. But you could try mixing in other varieties like pieds as well and see what happens.

There are pictures of rainbow budgies in our mutation section where all the pictures are, Rainbow the board ADMIN had one.

Budgie Smuggler's new addition to his flock looks like a rainbow to me :offtopic:

I think Splash might be an appropriate name for that one!

Does seem to fit the broad description of rainbow with that darker patch over the neck.

The only thing missing is a mutation that produces a red/orange/pink pigment!

Budgie Smuggler's new addition to his flock looks like a rainbow to me

This bird isn't a true Rainbow as it's missing the Clearwing gene...YF2 Opaline Spangles can also look a lot like Rainbows, but aren't the true Rainbow which is YF2 Blue Opaline Clearwing.

THey ae pretty, however Wrong looking (Laughing out loud) ..... kida like a pro hart canvas hehehe

It must be said that RAINBOW budgie is an adopted name to describe a bird that has so many genetic mutations in it at the end that it would be a Pain in the *** to try and type it all down as it is !! :D
