Posted April 8, 200817 yr Hey guys, I've been nagged by various members to post some photos of my birds so here they are! A couple of photos with all the birds together and a photo of my favorite yellow face Blondie. http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s124/bot3feb/DSC00414.jpg http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s124/bot3feb/DSC00411.jpg http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s124/bot3feb/DSC00407.jpg I hope that worked correctly! Just so everyone knows they arent nearly as cramped as they look in these photos, but being aviary birds the second I got in the aviary to take photos they all ran and hid on me in the tightest corner they could find!!
April 8, 200817 yr WOW!!! Look at all those Yellow Faced Blues :wine You have a very colourful flock - Thanks for sharing
April 8, 200817 yr Author I really adore the yellow faces, especially the grey and clear wings which is probably why Blondie is my favorite. My little boys love them too becase it makes such a nice colourful flock with the blues and yellows all mixed together.I'd actually like to add some other colors to the flock too, maybe replace a few of my yellowfaces with greens, greys, etc. just for a bit of 'diversity' :wine

April 8, 200817 yr Golden face is the intense yellow if the picture is true to colour ... the the few that are to the right (first picture ) are goldn face
April 8, 200817 yr Author There are definately some which are brighter yellow than others, I will try and take a few closer photos tomorrow and put them on the colours page. The golden face doesn't get the yellow through the body though does it? Almost all of them have some greening of their body feathers, there are only a couple that don't

April 8, 200817 yr Author Gotcha, well then they probably are almost all golden face, if anything I would say that photo is duller than true colour as it was just taken on my phone camera. My babies are the pale lemon yellow of yellow face and get mch brighter after their first moult. They are basically all type two golden as they have alot of yellow in their wings and often tail too. Most have dappled greening in the chest
April 8, 200817 yr WOW!!! Look at all those Yellow Faced Blues You have a very colourful flock - Thanks for sharing That was my thoughts so pretty looks like a "wild" budgie flock hehe...are they are sibling?
April 8, 200817 yr Author I believe some of them may be but I recieved then as a flock from a bloke that had hundreds that needed to be rehomed so I have very little idea of their history. The females are mostly pieds, etc and the males are mostly yellow/golden face so I suspect some of the males may be brothers but they are not related to the females. This is one reason I am looking to swap a few of my males out t increase genetic diversity a bit.
