AWWW that is so cute! definatly a little baby probably a boy to!

Henry... love it. You're also very good at photography... esp of your birds. You should enter one of your pics in this months Budgie of the Month...

Hi Vicky,

Henry is a beautiful new budgie ;)

Feathers.

I'm gonna reserve my sexing for you ;) so far it looks hen like in those pics to me...pus being opaline, the chances of being a hen are higher... but let's wait and see.... i may be wrong :D but very cute photo's! nice and clear and lovely colours!

a baby for sure, I don't see iris rings in yet, still has the bar lines and he has that baby look, going to reserve my thought for boy or girl because the cere is odd at that age not a pink but more a blue that could be turning into a deeper blue possibility? I had that happen with Merlin when it started to change over from pink to blue.

Thank Libby, that thought did cross my mind that most opalines are females. If he does turn out to be a she I may have to change its name. :P I was wondering with male opalines is the cere normally blue as I have not seen too many photos as most are female?

yes male opalines are blue unless it is an opaline recessive pied or it comes with a mutation that the cere doesn't change but regular opalines will have blue ceres.

Hi Vicky,

I have no qualms in saying that Henry is a boy.. I meant to add that in my earlier reply. It is very easy to see in the third picture... nice smooth cere with very even colouring. Girls don't tend to show that depth of purple in there ceres, they are usually a lighter colour.
