Posted March 23, 200817 yr Hello, Happy Easter! I hope everybody has been eating lots of chocolate today :glare: Well Coco is now about 14 weeks (hasn't had first moult yet, so I think I bought him younger than I originally thought). Last time I asked about gender I had a few mixed answers, so I thought I would try again now he/she is a bit older. This is my fav picture so I just have to sneak it in Thanks for your help
March 23, 200817 yr Tam, your favourite picture is awesome !! :glare: I'm going for boy, as I said in the other post. The cere colour is very even. It could be confusing in some photos when the cere is front on, as it looks like it is lighter around the nares. This is why it is best to have a variety of photos like you have done. Sometimes you just never really know with some until they go into breeding condition. I have had 2 that I kept changing my mind on until there was no doubt. Feathers.

Thanks Feathers, it was very bright outside when I was taking the pics, so it was washing the colour out a fair bit too which didn't really help! This one shows the colour a little better on the right hand side of his cere, the left hand side looks a little lighter where the light is hitting it. I have always secretly been hoping for a boy though :glare:
March 23, 200817 yr Very cute pictures Gotta love Coco. As for gender... I'll go with the majority...
March 23, 200817 yr Yeah... boy from me too. I think I said boy originally too, so there you go... but I can never be too sure until they are a little older. He is a sweetie!
March 23, 200817 yr Yep BOy!! And looking at that head his moult isnt too far away- starting to get a bit patchy. The time they moult isnt definate Ive had youngsters 4 months just starting to moult. Edited March 23, 200817 yr by the pie
March 23, 200817 yr Author Yay, so I have myself a boy, how exciting (not that I would be unhappy with a girl or anything) :budgiedance: Thanks everybody for taking a look at the pics
March 24, 200817 yr Author He is a handsome young boy - love his orange face I think that he was a yellow face at one stage, but between the carrots and his pinky/red calcium perch he always seems to be a funny colour , but he seems happy enough.! My mum came around the other day and commented on how cute his little peach coloured face is and how she hasn't seen that before on a budgie
