Dottie- a beautiful Hen but not really young...

 

Zeus- another beautiful hen/cock (I'm leaning towards hen). Quite young and very sweet.

 

A great buy. Make sure you keep them away from your other birds for atleast 30 (5m or another room). You wouldn't want your birds to get sick from your newbies.

Yep, Dottie is definately older then 4 months as she has a very white forhead with no bars. She very cute though. What did they tell you about Zeus. I'm only guessing on sex as picture isn't real close or clear. I can kinda see white around the nostrils... which means female, but I'm definately NO EXPERT!!! :budgiedance:

I know it isn't great advice but i had to ask the pet shop people for help and they said that he was a boy and i can usually tell but....meh

They both look cute. The grey hen is very nice. I wait for clearer pictures to help sex Zeus :budgiedance:

If you can put their cage by the window during the day or use the flash if you must it is hard to see them and tell you the mutations. As for the show or the English budgie the first one looks it, he reminds me of Merlin .

All baeutiful birds. I love seeing them all hang out & chewing the veggies & fruits on a surface together. Nice flock there Indz.

Sorry to say, but it is still hard to say whether Zues is a boy or girl... it is just not clear enough. Zues definitely has a form of ring around the nares, but is it a white rings or just a slighty lighter colour to the rest?

 

If the rings are white, you have a baby hen, if not, then in all probability it is male.

 

Confused yet? :glare:

 

Either way Zues is a pretty little YF type 2 skyblue and Dotti is a very pretty opaline(?) grey hen.

it is hard to tell the gender of Zeus still. in time we will now when he/she grows up a bit more.

Also I have a theory that dottie is not actually 4 months! her cere is a dark brown but has not yet gotten the crust of an older bird. She has no markings on her head like Elvis and Zeus do....her band is a green '07 but that means she could have been born anytime in 2007...I don't know if it shows the month but another thing is she is extremely flightly like a bird who has never been handled before.

I'd be inclined to say Dottie was born early-ish in 2007(It doesn't show month). You're also prob right about the flightyness. She might have grown up in an aviary/cage with no human contact. You'll prob find her harder to tame, but with time and patience, anything is possible.
