i'm sure there will be a male since jill laid 7 eggs

i just was talking to my friend and there are 6 chicks now :budgiedance:

Great news!!! You will have quite a selection to choose from :budgiedance: I hope one of them is a boy!

:budgiedance: How exciting for you, 5 or 6 weeks to wait! :(

Have you got your eye on "THE ONE" yet ....

Not long to go mate :budgiedance:

great news, jill had 3 chicks :hap:

Very cool...are there any pictures you can post, would they allow?

how exciting! you are in for a great time!

my friend doesn't want to bother the hen, as she gets mad when you disturb her. so i haven't seen any of the chicks yet :hap: but once they are able to feed on their own we will be going up to pick our budgie :D

well i found a very beautiful name and since he's not here yet, i'm changing it :hap: instead of kalen i'm naming him AZUL which is spanish and mexican and it means blue :D which is perfect because he will be blue :D

  • 2 weeks later...

another update :) jill had 5 chicks and my friend has had them out and held them. The 2 clutches haven't hatched yet so we think there will just be the 5 chicks. The oldest chick is starting to get tail feathers, so it should be a few more weeks and azul will be home :budgiedance:

the 5 chicks are doing great :D not all of them have their tail feathers yet, but one is poking its head out of the nest  but the hen is still feeding them. so it shouldn't be long now :) and they all have most of their feathers :) they are the same colour as the parents which is blue :)

there is a chance i will see the chicks tomorrow :hap: karen and dave are coming to pick me up and we are going for a drive to a town 1 hour away. And on the way back i may stop in to see the budgies :hap: and i will bring my camera with me :hap:

okay i took some pics of the chicks :P

i don't know if you can tell what sex they are.

They look lovely :P

The look like they are all normal cobalt or sky blue (depending on the flash). I can't tell gender sorry - We need a clear photo of their cere from the front.

:) That is the strangest breeding setup i have ever seen.... Is that some kind of plastic food container????

yes it is. based on the FAQ section about sexing the chicks, i believe the 1st picture is a male

azul is coming home in 2 weeks :) all of the chicks are eating on their own now, but there's a few things we need to get, like food :D and gas is very expensive right now, so we're gonna wait until may 31st

 Good news, await the pictures. :P
