March 21, 200817 yr By the way....SCOOTER is a golden face type two cobalt budgie I don't really understand the cobalt colour??? what is it exactly??? The camera enhanced his yellow face i think because I don't feel he is deep enough yellow to be golden. He is very pretty. He has little random patches of deep blue-purple, sky blue and green though his feathers. I have my back door open and he is cherping to my flock out side He is cobalt blue and possibly carrying violet as well....the golden face type 2 created a bleed through of yellow colour wash over his blue creating the greenish looking feathers. He IS a golden face and not yellowface and it has nothing to do with the camera
March 21, 200817 yr Author Yay!! he is my first golden face - and as you know i don't have many blue birds either... so he is really something special Because he doesn't have the debilitating disability of splayed legs that we originally thought, i don't need to make him a special cage. However, i am going to buy him a new cage. One of these... I will make some nice flat perches for him and make some toys that cater's to his needs
March 21, 200817 yr Here's three golden faces just like him This is Yellowface in comparison That cage you are talking about is exactly the same as the ones I just bought for breeder cages. They are very good Edited March 21, 200817 yr by KAZ
March 21, 200817 yr Author Ahhh... I see the difference now, Thanks Here are some more snaps - my goal is to flatten my battery before dark hehehe He is getting more comfortable with me gazing at him He has started Gazing back too Awwww
March 21, 200817 yr I have disabled budgies too Liv. Cant bring myself to part with them. They will live out their life in my aviary
March 21, 200817 yr Author I have disabled budgies too Liv. Cant bring myself to part with them. They will live out their life in my aviary The pet shop said that he got picked on by the other birds... do you think he might get picked on in my aviary??? He is adorable Liv. Very cute... and gerat job on the perch. Thanks. The perch is just the 2 wooden ones rapped in paper and firmly taped with sticky tape - i will be going to the hardware store to buy some wood for perches tomorrow

They will live out their life in my aviary The pet shop said that he got picked on by the other birds... do you think he might get picked on in my aviary??? Hard to say...mine dont. You will have to assess his capabilities and the temperament of the others when all together. BUT also petshops have smaller cages that we do in an aviary.
March 21, 200817 yr Author I do like the idea of having him as an inside bird - i have never had an inside bird as a real pet before.
March 21, 200817 yr I do like the idea of having him as an inside bird - i have never had an inside bird as a real pet before. Go for it Liv
March 22, 200817 yr Go for it LIV ... inside BOID ! He already loves ya ... I can tell. It's all in the way he looks at you. You will have a great relationship with him. By the WAY KAZ ... those pics you showed with the Golden Face & the colbalt blue. That's Scooter for sure. Almost duplicates of him. Scooter has some really nice colors in his feathers up front. Especially on the neck & throat area.
March 22, 200817 yr He would be a lovely INSIDE bird, talk to the other Karen about it, I know she has a female budgie, Boris, that lives inside and then goes outside and comes back in and all is well!! I couldn't function without the music inside my house.
March 23, 200817 yr he is such a cute little fellow. if l where you l would keep him as an indoor budgie :budgiedance:
March 24, 200817 yr He is so cute He'd be lovely to have as an indoor bird. How far away is your aviary Liv? The sight/sound of the other birds might distress him a bit if he's by himself.
March 25, 200817 yr Author Just an update on Scooter... He is doing great, he has been wormed and is looking to be in great health (other than the rickets) I purchased a cage for him today and i pick it up tomorrow. This, but in black. I have decided to select one of my new babies to be scooters friend, so i will keep the cage empty until either Scooter comes out of quarantine, or the baby of choice is ready to leave the aviary
