Hey Lovemybirds ... how is she handling the surroundings ?

Is she eating well ? Chirping ? Hopping around her cage & being investigative ? Or is she just sitting quiet & being laid back ?

What's her behaviour like ? Does she hear your other birds ? Does that interest her at all ?

Yes, she is eating well, chirping and hopping around her cage! She has used the swing & loves herself in the mirror.

She hasn't taken much interest in the other birds, but they are nowhere near each other. She would be able to hear them, but doesn't whistle to them as yet.

I got a phone number from the vet today. I rang as soon as I got home. I was excited to think I may have found her owners, but unfortunately, those people lost a male :hap: nothing at the local petshops either. I'm running out of options to find her family. I have left details at the petshops and vet .... just in case.

OOOH I hope you find her owners losing a feathered freind is sooo sad but at least she is in good hands for now...

I hope you find her owners too.

I am just so very happy that she sounds so good despite her ordeal. Eating & hopping around the cage & loving herself in the mirror. That in itself is so great ! And using the Swing ? WOW ! Let's hope she had it as good at her old home as she is having it at yours.

Not to pressure you ... but ... Is there no way possible you would keep her if you can't find her owners ? You've done so well with her & you've had budgies before. You just might find her a nice addition to your little flock !

I think you've done a great job so far ! Way to go.

:D I am very happy to keep her, if I can't find her owners. :hap: I just wanted to do the right thing, in trying my best to reunite her with her family.

She seems to be settling in more and more each day. Definately a lot more active than when we first caught her. I'll keep doing my best to look after her. She is one lucky bird indeed!

If we don't find her family, her name may well become Lucky! It doesn't seem right just calling her "The Budgie".

:D

That is very very cool indeed ! I'm happy to hear that lovemybirds ! :D

Hey LOVEMYBOIDS !

Any news on Lucky ? Did you find her owner ? How about her ? She still doing okay ? Keep us posted !

Lucky is still with me! No owners in sight. I must admit, I haven't tried too hard to find them either for the past 5 days or so! :rip:

She is doing very well, even had a nibble at some vegies for me. :) Now that she is more lively, she is a lot more bitey. Will keep you updated with her progress.

After nosing around here, and at the breeding section & looking at all the photos of the gorgeous babies, I want an aviary! I wonder if my hubby will oblige with building one? :P We already have a chook house to be built & a vege garden, what's one more thing to build? :P

:P ... just sneak it on the end of the 'to do list'... he wont even notice.

HI All,

Obviously I am a new member! I actually own a cockatiel & an Indian ringneck. Yesterday I caught a budgie that landed on my car while I was standing out the front! Luckily for the little bird I have spare cages, as I just upgraded my cockatiels cage.

Nice bird! Well done and welcome!

:rip:

Glad to hear that your little " Blue Bird of Biteyness " has flown into your heart & made you love her. I don't see any problem with hubby building you an aviary. Just cook him up some super meals ... light the candles ... pour some wine & NAG HIM RELENTLESSLY. He will gladly build & do anything you ask. As long as you keep quiet !

It's how the girlfriend has me wrapped around her little finger. :)
