Budgiebird Hilton .....daily Life In My Aviaries Part 3

Featured Replies

I used to do a daily blog of life in my aviaries on here...all the ins and outs of the day...relationships in the aviary, chciks hatched etc etc.

Here is part one............http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index.php?showtopic=10863&hl=budgiebird+hilton

and here is part 2 .........http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index.php?showtopic=12692&hl=budgiebird+hilton

Today begins PART 3 :D

I have 22 breeding cages going right now all in various stages of eggs, chicks, budgie bonking etc. I am about to catch up some more birds for breeding as they are all going mad in the aviaries and pairing up. I have about 150 to 200 birds in the aviary I think.

Here are the lacewing chicks of pet type MING and her show type boy ( no name ) ....you guys can come up with a name for MINGS boy :hap:

Here is a cute little grey green spangle baby still getting its feathers. It was not being well looked after by its mother so it went into a foster nest.

I just love this little grey green spangle, so gorgeous :) Looking forward to your updates.

We have only had blue series chicks hatched so far and I am very excited that our first green hen laid an egg today so I have fingers crossed it will be fertile.

they are cute babies, look forward to hearing more about your daily life with your budgies

Hey Kaz,

that's a close SNAP. I was just thinking the other day that I havn't heard you use "Budgiebird Hilton" for a while. I am glad it's back. Love those grey chicks, the second one looks especially good.

Feathers.

I love reading all about your birds Kaz - you always have such pretty ones! Love your photos as well!

Oh my goodness. I love the photo's of the babies with very few feathers.

You certainly are not helping what is looking like becoming my new addiction :o

Heh, sounds like my Sherbet :o

Quick question, why are their beaks a browny colour?

Some chicks have a lot of melanin and that gives them a black beak...it goes away after a few weeks. Some top breeders in the world have said they always keep the black beaked ones :o

very nice Kaz, I have missed your daily blogs.

Oh the chicks are so cute. What about MOJITO for MING's boy? :P

I can't wait to see the next chapter :P the bubs are adorable, especially the greygreen spangle and the greys... love them! The lacewings look like they are comming along nicely, what a nice healthy looking clutch. Maybe I could smuggle them out of Australia.... hmmm.... (Laughing out loud).

The spangle is of show parents so we will see how it turns out after some months in the aviary. The green hen isnt bad either excpet for her biting :hap:

All your birds are beautiful but my favourite are the babies
