Will post pics again. I have fiddled with photobucket a bit, so maybe have changed links??? http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg219/b...arlieBenny2.jpg "Charlie" (green) & "Benny" (blue) http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg219/b...arlieBenny1.jpg Here's a photo of the new cage setup... Tried to make it a bit more homely. Benny and Charlie are like siamese twins. Happily watching TV together on the lounge... Am hoping this might be a clearer photo of Benny's cere - any ideas if boy or girl? Love my babies. I can't help just watching them potter around. I let them out of the cage as often as I can and encourage them onto my hand or shoulder. I just worry a bit i might be overdoing it. Should I give them a bit more space and time? Edited March 11, 200817 yr by Elly 1st 2 links slightly oversized, turned to links
March 11, 200817 yr They are very sweet. I wouldn't worry about overdoing it. If they seem happy, it's all good. The cage looks good with the leaves. A tip for you on perches. I'd get rid of the wooden ones you got with it, and replace them with natural ones. Pick some strong native branches, with varying thickness'. Your boys will love to strip the back off them and the different thickness' are great for the feet to exercise them. Just remember to wash them like you did with the leaves. They LOVE them! :(Laughing out loud): You'll find if you move files and fiddle on photobucket, the links will no longer work. You can just repost them if you like. By the way... I love the photo of the two of them together. It looks like they're already great mates!
March 11, 200817 yr Hi Deb, the cage looks great! Try to mix it around every couple of weeks to keep it interesting. It also helps to make sure that neither of them get too possesive of any of the toys etc. As for the perches.. they are fine to use, but using them in conjunction with a couple of natural branches of varying widths gives their feet the exercise they require to stay healthy. What I did with my cage (the same as yours) was cut down the perches so they fit width wise not length wise. The perches and branches were then put on either side of the cage with the food dishes kept down low in the middle (so they have no perches above them- so no poop in them!). This allowed the birds to fly from one side to the other and also up and down as they fed. Does that make sense?? If not I will find one of the old photos I have of thae set up. Feathers.
March 11, 200817 yr good pics of your budgies you could also use some rope perches too, they are soft on the budgies feet.
