Looking good Kaz, but no sign in the picture of the lacewing markings. Chucked out my Lacewings eggs yesterday, [infertile] my show breeder friend gave me some fertile eggs & three chicks yesterday, as he is going away & couldn’t look after them, they are from some good birds he bough this year from a big breeder.
What kind of chicks and eggs Norm ?
I dunno the difference between opaline or normal but those two are two of the best lookng budgies I've ever seen. I can't wait to see what their chicks turn out like.
You seem to have a liking for lacewings JimmyBanks....you had better make sure you get yourself some

Love them, I do. Get some, I shall.

Sorry had a yoda moment. I really do wanna get some lacewings they are just amazing. I've had a good look at the different types and these jump out at me... so in a perfect world my first 2 will be lacewing or lacewing and maybe a lutino or albino... thats in a perfect world.

Kaz, two chicks already hatched from one batch of eggs, they are Cinnamons good show stock...the three other chicks, one has already been rung & maybe one more eggs hatched...sadly I can't rember what mutation he said they were...supposed to be big birds, will have to wait & see.

Awwwww, so cute. I love the little head peeking out of the nest box :)

Kaz,

How adorable!

picture one: "Mum, is it nice out there?

picture Two: Looks up at mum and awaits an answer

picture three: [thinks] "maybe I should just sneak out and check for myself"

I am a sucker for photos with a chick looking out a nestbox hole.

Feathers.

As hard as it is to sex lacewings ( like lutinos and albinos ) I believe there is 4 hens and one cock ....if not all hens in that nest. :D

the peeking baby looks just like dad and looks like a boy too

My thoughts exactly........looks like the eldest three are hens and the youngest ( 5th ) also is a hen. The baby peeking out is baby number four. :D

Kaz they are absolutely stunning! I so wish I lived closer to you, although my husband thinks we live at a safe distance.(Laughing out loud) Far away enough so I can't buy the budgies I love. :D hehehehe Little does he know that there a few over this way close by.

Have you worked out if they are opaline or narmal yet?

Thanks for sharing,I miss my budgies :D

And the wing pattern these are opaline lacewings.

I had a brain fade for a while but lacewings are no different to any other variety. Normal or Opaline Spangles or Normal or Opaline Dom Pieds Normal or opaline crests etc

Nice pictures Throwback. I think the Dad of mine is opaline and the hen is not.

So far the third chick ( 2nd from left ) has the best and darkest markings

Colour of eyes have no bearing on longevity of a bird. Do blue eyed people live as long as brown eyed people ?
