Now you mention it they do look like S&P shakers!! :(Laughing out loud):

Those birds are crackers, Very nice. and nope I will not ask about the origin of Diddy Doodle Rubber (or is it just me!!)

Great names ... Could be a Rock Band with a name like that. As for going forth & multilplying ... is there Budgie Viagra ?

Keep your dogs & cats away from the male birds !

Has any one bred flecked to flecked? I know they say not to, I have spoken to some top breeders who have bred clean headed budgies from a flecked pair. They all say that you must record that the clean head bird came from a flecked nest. And when time comes to pair that bird, to select a partner with no flecking. As the bird will be carrying the flecked characteristic.

WOW !!!! Throwback, ain't she a kicker. I love the mixes of colors & markings on her head. She ought to produce some nice fiddies. Get her on it ! Make sure you show us some pics of any wee ones from the speckled headed birds.

Just saw those extra pictures you posted Throwback…don’t know how I missed them till now…you have some really nice birds good luck with your breeding. Most of the real good show looking birds I pick up [at pet shops etc] don’t seem to breed, I guess you got yours straight from the breeders, so good luck with the breeding. I’m like you give those Greys with fleck a go, should get some nice birds even with flecks & you should be able to get the odd clear as well. I agree with you, love that Cinnamon Grey Green hen hope she does well for you…Good luck hope to see the results soon. Some of the nicest birds I’ve seen on here will be using their pictures to give me ideas when selecting my breeders.

No worries Norm!

The cinn green on the 1st page 2nd picture is from the pet shop. She was in a bad way when I got her, but is now ready to breed. Getting good hens is the trick Norm. I have seen some magic stuff! One hen I saw at breeders aviary was the best Y/F Opaline hen I have seen, I said so to the breeder hoping he may want to part with it. His comment was great show bird! lousy hen, waits till the chicks are 3 weeks then rips there heads off!!

So you have to watch them like a hawk!! until you know you can trust them.

Good luck with selecting your breeders
