Posted January 25, 200817 yr I have Mimi and Big Vinnie in a breeder cage now. It will take awhile to see if they are compatible and what kind of babies they will have. here is Mimi and Big Vinnie

Mimi has funny feet and that makes her walk and stand funny, BUT she jumped straight up on the perch when she saw Vinnie enter the breeding cabinet :fear

I have some YF visual violets ....purples...( a couple are Vinnie children also ) in the aviary BUT they are mostly smallish. One of Vinnie's however took off a FIRST in YF on Sunday She wants him bad lol I would too if i were a bird lol... i bet he's one of the "lookers" of the birdy world You have two of Vinnie's sisters now and also his Mother.

It is difficult to maintain size and quality with the violet but I think you have a good chance there Goodluck.

Vinnie, although it doesnt show well in this photo is very large, very long. He is a good 30% longer and bigger than my average show bird. He took off 2 firsts over the weekend. Hoping Mimi and he will make beautiful music together. I have seen chciks of Mimi's with her former breeder and they are outstanding. One is valued at $2000.

January 25, 200817 yr that just boggles the mind.. but then again I've heard of the same here in the US in show circles. still amazes me to get that kind of quality.
January 27, 200817 yr Author Mimi must be very keen on Vinnie as she stays up on the perch and she has club feet ( malformed ). I may try and fit a platform for her. But she is happy to perch with Vinnie.
