We had another Budgie Show today so I took 13 birds. I could have taken more, but some had tails dropped and were moulting, or still the odd pin feather or two from almost finished moulting.

So I took 13 birds and they did rather well.

I got 7 firsts

3 seconds

2 thirds

and

Best in colour class

" " " ....NORMAL GREEN

" " " ....NORMAL BLUE ( Big Vinnie )

" " " ....LUTINO

" " " ...YF BLUE ( Mickey )

" " " ...DOMINANT PIED

" " " ....SPANGLE

" " " ....RECESSIVE PIED

also BEST IN COLOUR CLASS OVERALL LUTINO

and a HIGHLY COMMENDED YF BLUE NORMAL

No photos of the birds as it was too hot and I had to get them home and cooled down and settled for the evening.

Cool Bananas Kaz...what a fantastic result......well done....

that is great news to hear, glad things went well for you

Congratulations Kaz, great job.

Well done- wished I could have been there, I am in town for a few weeks but circumstances made me feel I should be at home at the moment. Maybe next time.

Was it a good turnout for the first Sat meeting? Might pop over to the other site later and find out.

Awsome Kaz, that's fantastic! Great results there. :(Laughing out loud):

i hope things go well in mandarah for you and the birds enjoy the ride. i think i would be a bit freaked out going in the back of a hearse.

The birds wont notice Anyway, its been a great many years since the hearse was used for a hearse,........its just a really big station wagon

i know the birds will not mind. i just meant i would find it weird being in a hearse. i did not mean it to sound insulting to your birds or hearse the way i wrote it.

I forgot...I also got BEST DANISH ( recessive ) in show too :)

:ygbudgie: Wow Kaz, you really kicked the competition, congratulations!!! And as far as them being transported in a hearse, well, I used to live in an ex-morgue many years ago (and it had been used as a morgue MANY decades before that) and it was okay. Ghosts don't bug us (thats movie stuff), it's the nasty people around us, hearses are just fine!!! :)

Re the hearse.....I have been requested to use my hearse at the Budgerigar nationals in May to transport the show birds from their holding area to the staging area each day and back again. They figure my hearse can fit around a 100 showcages in it and save a lot of work for people and trauma for the birds. :D

Kaz, that should cause for a few ppl to look & stare. :angel1:

I can only imagine the Birdy Hearse Transport.. should have a bunch of people follow behind you while you drive really slow from one to the other
