Hi everyone. My name is Kellie and I live in Blacktown, Sydney. I got two budgies yesterday, Bailey (boy) and Kaluah (girl). They are so cute. They were born last year but not sure what month. They both have green id rings. I will post pics asap. Looking forward getting to know everyone.

JL in Western Australia is Jeff Lloyd.....but maybe someone else since you arent in Western Australia ?

 

Most breeders hang onto their birds till their first moult to see how they turn out so chances are yours would have hatched mid year or so perhaps.

Yes...get in touch with the NSW Budgerigar Council. :D

I did a quick search of our members and there is a couple JL s in the list it would be easier to contact our ring registrar .

I spoke to Barbara yesterday and because the only initials are JL she cant tell me anything. Apparently the only JL she has listed hasnt bred budgies for a few years. I rang the pet shop i got them from and they're approx 8 weeks old.

Did the ring say 07 or is it a triangle shape then 7

The ring has to be registered ,if it is actually a club ring .

Every year club rings are a different colour and also there will be a different symbol in front of the year number this is to protect from fraud , so that all breeders get their rings at the same time and so there is no disadvantage to any breeders .

So if the ring doesnt have a triangle then its not a club ring and so probably not a registered breeder in our society .

Well, after swearing to hubby I wouldnt get anymore birds, I adopted a gorgeous 3 month old rainbow lorikeet on Tuesday. I have named him/her Pogo cause he/she is always bouncing around. She's not tame, but I'm working on that at the moment. I will post pics asap.

Awesome! Pogo sounds like quite a character, good luck with taming him/her, looking forward to some pictures :ph34r: .
