February 6, 200817 yr Author Very, very sad news...... Â I have just taken these chicks to the avian vet as most of them were displaying symptoms of Feather cysts ( tumours ) in their wings. Treatment over the past week for swollen and weeping and infected wingtips has proven fruitless. More of them had the feather cysts each day...extremely infected feather follicles, massive infections that resisted all efforts with antibiotics. Two of the youngest also had heart defects. Eldest chick was exactly the same as Laila and a hen, we also had an opaline spangle, a blue spangle and two violet dominant pieds. The vet has just put all five chicks to sleep. :oliveb: Since we have had healthy chicks from laila before with no issues, it seems the carrier is the father of the chicks. He will be retired from breeding for the rest of his life. Â A sad day. Edited February 6, 200817 yr by KAZ

February 6, 200817 yr Very good people there always helpful, not uptight about money... A question over the phone is answered with as much detail as one whilst there, without the nagging of "you'll have ot make an appointment" for a simple three second answer that most other vets pull
